question June 1-6

I am getting excited. Never been to CP. Other than Vegas and Bahamas, never really been out of Oklahoma. My question is... I have checked weather.com and it says it's supposed to be 74 degrees. Being surrounded by water and CP/Ohio conditions (humidity, etc), is this warm enough for shorts and tank top or t-shirt?? OR should I bring jeans and a jacket?

I know this sounds stupid, but I am trying to pack light!! I'm not even going to ask about crowds... I am just going to hope it's not busy!! I feel like a kid again!!!!

Bring jeans and a light jacket. Maybe bring both and leave shorts and a tshirt in your car.. it'll be cold in the morning and again cold when the sun goes down.

When I went, I had on jeans, tshirt, sweatshirt and a jacket... I ended up running around with just a tshirt and jeans for awhile, but I grabbed my jacket when it started getting later in the day.

OK so in a nushell: bring different clothes, layer them accordingly, or leave some in the car.

I usually lower the temp by 5 ~10 degrees from whatever's predicted. But sometimes... ok a lot... they can be wrong. Bring clothes for any situation, and when you get there, you can wear what's necessary.

You can never be overly pre-pared for CP weather. just under pre-pared and cold /or wet!

If beating old people is wrong, i don't want to be right! hehe

trips to CP:3 Dragster:1 MFer:4 Magnum: 8 doesn't get any better then a nice day in may!

if you really want to pack light, you could skip the jacket/sweater, and buy one there if you decide you need it. You may as well do this anyway if you're the souvenier type--if you'd buy something anyway, may as well be something useful.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

Whoa. You are actually going to use the weather prediction 8 days away? Not a good idea. Check it the night before to get the best estimate, and of course, be prepared.

Sounds like you’ve already received some good advice, but here is my 2 cents worth. Wear your shorts and tank-top, and pack some long pants and leave them in the car. It’s better to go back to the car if it gets cold; rather than taking stuff off and taking it back to the car or carrying it.

Also, purchase a small to medium size waist pack. In there, you can store a nice rain poncho and snacks. Whatever you do don’t bring an umbrella—some rides don’t allow any carry on items and it’s a PIA to carry stuff all day long if it’s a nice day.

Take pants! And a sweatshirt, jacket, whatever! Buying them is a good suggestion if you plan to anyway. Even though the cost is a bit high, I always find a locker to be a good investment, especially considering the strict rules regarding what you can take on coasters. You can stick everything in there - a big help if the car is too far to walk back to. Of the countless times I have been to CP in early June, it has almost ALWAYS been cold (especially because you are on the water).
