Question about season pass renewal

Alright, I'm going down to CP on Sunday to get my pass, but I also have a friend (and fellow GTTP member) who wants to renew his as well and cannot come. We figured that if he mailed in the renewal form now, he wouldn't get the pass by Opening Day. So I was thinking that I could take his renewal form (and money) down with me on Sunday and have them issue the new pass to me right there. Anyone know if they will do this?

Don't leave it to us to guess, call the park. We'll only disappoint you and leave no one accountable!

Ha, good point Jeff, just shows how stupid I am - I never once thought of calling the park! I will do. Although don't we have one or two members on here that work at admissions/SP center?

I work for Park Admissions, but I couldn't give you an exact answer for that; I wouldn't want to tell you "yes" and then have you go down there only to be disappointed, or vice versa. I would suggest calling Season Passes; they will be the ones working there and can answer your questions directly. Good luck!

And while you're at it, ask them if they are going to be open for SP processing on May 4th and if so, what hours? ;) ;) I am aware of what the website says and I even tried to call myself, but didn't get an answer. :)

Season Pass processing will NOT be open on May 4th. It is open April 25th-May3rd, then everyday after the 4th....just NOT the 4th.

I would suggest calling Season Passes

Is there a special phone # for Season Passes?

edit: never mind, I had to do some searching but I found the number on cedarpoint.com

Actually, in a nice reply to my other post, I'm not exactly sure whether the pass center will be open the 4th--one source tells me that it will be open, the other said it won't. Call the park to be sure....

I just called the park (season pass #) and was told that the season pass center WILL be open on May 4th for processing. I tried to find out about the hours and the lady wasn't sure but she said it'd be at least 11-7, but they might be open earlier than 11. Just thought I'd let everyone know. This is good news for me! :)

I just got my season passholders newsletter (seems kind of late) and there is another option availible for people renewing their passes in addition to the "by mail" option.

"After Cedar Point opens on May 5, we can still speed things up for returning Season Passholders. Instead of using the Season Pass Center, go to the Resorts Reservation Booth on the right hand side as you approach the main gate. You can redeem your certificate using last year's picture on your 2002 photo ID, which will save you time. This service will be availible during peak park operating hours."

Just thought I'd let everyone know. It looks like they're trying to take steps to alleviate some of the problems we've griped about in the past concerning season pass processing. :)

In the newsletter it also says pass center will be open May 4th and May 6-9 from 11am to 7pm. Beginning May 5th, when the park is open the center is open.
Matt, that is what we did today when we got there. There was a long line for the photo processing. We were told that if had a pass last year,we could go straight over to the Resort Reservation Center next to Guest Relations(like you said). Nice to get inside out of the cold wind! It took us 25 minutes to get through and get pass. Great to have my colorful hair from last year on my new pass! :)

Yep Matt I did that today too. And to answer my original question, yes I did renew my friend's pass. Although I still had to wait the hour for the regular season pass line cause my brother didn't have one last year...

Okay, so I have a phone call to the park, an e-mail from the park, and a season passholder's newsletter. They all tell me that the season pass center will be open on May 4 for processing (11AM-7PM according to the newsletter). A mysterious post at Coasterbuzz and a link to the CP website now seems to indicate that they will not be open on the 4th. The spot that used to say "After April 25 Daily 11-7" now says "Thursday, April 25 - Friday, May 3: 11AM-7PM." I'm hoping CP isn't going to pull something shady on me because I have done my homework and I'm hoping to get my pass processed on the 4th because I've been previously led to believe that I will be able to. So since CP reads this stuff, hopefully they'll see this and realize they should honor what is printed in literature and what they have told me on the phone and via e-mail and have the season pass center open that day. Don't any of the Longaberger people get season passes? I would think they'd want to have it open.

The Web site is often the last to know. Call on Friday. I seriously doubt that the pass office would be closed when they could potentially sell hundreds of passes to the basket folk.

Besides, it's not like the whole peninsula will be off-limits. Challenge Park will be open, regardless of basket affiliation.

The CP website was just updated about May 4th.

11 am to 9 pm on the 4th. I will be there.

Wow, I think they reponded to my concerns quicker here than if I e-mailed them directly. :) I feel much better now! I was thinking along the same lines as Jeff in that they'd want to have it open to sell passes to the Longaberger people.
