Question about restraints

Hi all, I haven't been to Cedar Point since 2002 and we are planning to visit next month. I had bariatric surgery back in May, and I've lost 80 lbs...so now I am looking forward to riding coasters again! I went to Kings Island last week, and I fit on everything just fine except for Banshee. The test seat was a no-go, but luckily, the ride op stuffed me in there :) I have a feeling that TTD and MF are probably both going to be a no-go for me. And probably Raptor. (Most of my extra weight is still in my abdominal area.) I was just curious about how the restraints are designed on Maverick, Gatekeeper, and Rougarou. How do they compare to Diamondback? I had absolutely no issue riding that one.

Maverick gives a lot of leeway in the upper body with the new restraints, but there is still a hard "lap bar" that swings down, so it would be one to try the test seat for. Gatekeeper uses the same restraints as Banshee, so hopefully you get a helpful ride op again. Rougarou's restraints are the normal OTSR that B&Ms use (like Raptor), they don't leave a lot of extra room. If you carry weight in your stomach, you may be able to fit the seatbelt a little lower on your waist under your stomach on TTD and Millie, a family member of mine used to have to lift up and put the belt under. Its at least worth a shot on the test seat to be sure. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. It sounds like Maverick might be a winner! And thanks for your suggestions.

I will be SO happy next year when I've lost enough weight to not have to worry about restraint size anymore.

I will definitely utilize the test seats, embarrassing as it is :)
