Good article Jeff...While we are on the topic, I was just wondering what Coasters at CP are clones. I believe that Wildcat was a clone, as well as Jumbo Jet when it was around...but I may be wrong. What others are there?....

Wildcat and Jumbo Jet are off the shelf production coasters, so I guess you can call them clones.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

In Japan, there is a clone of Raptor called Orochi. Raptor came first though.

Will this kid ever sleep through the night?!?

Valley Fair has the same Corkscrew CP has, and Michigans Adventure has the same Corkscrew Geauga Lake used to have. I ofcourse am talking in terms of layout, not physical parts. Thunder Canyon seems to be the exact same model at all the Cedar Fair parks too.

I know that Thunder Canyon at CP is an Intamin ride with large rafts. The one at Dorney is a different manufacturer, O.D. Hopkins maybe, with smaller rafts. So, the raft rides at those two parks at least, are different.

My mistake. I meant to say Snake River Falls. I always get the two names confused.

I guess you could count Ripcord as a clone...is there one of the exact same height else where though? 152' tower, 173' arch...i may be rusty with my stats...its been 2 years

While Corkscrew at Vallyfair is similar it is far from being a clone. The speed hill on the Vallyfair Corkscrew comes after the loop and doesn't have that killer airtime like at C.P. There is also a helix at the end of the ride that CP doesn't have.

Chang at Kentucky Kingdom is a clone of the first half of Mantis, just mirror image.

"Six Flags in particular has taken a lot of verbal abuse for this," he says, noting vicious griping in Web chat rooms.

Huh? What he talking about? We never do that... 0:)

Someone better explain what's going on here...or...there will be a lot of explaining to do!

I would have to agree. Being from MN, and after going on corkscrew at CP, CP's was suprisingly better. I wasn't really expecting much when I first went on it.
