Prior to Millennium Force...

Before our beloved MF, what was the first thing you would ride when you arived at the park?

We (my friends and I) would always go back and hit MS or Magnum for the first ride.

It was usually Magnum because we always go in the back gate by the hotels.

I did what Jeff suggested in the strategy part of this site back then, I'd hit Mantis. The line was always super short and it was a lot of fun.

Mantis... still to this day my favorite coaster int he park.. I know I'm in the VAST minority here...

Or.. if it was raining (and still running) I'd hit Power Tower.. LOVE that rain just tearing the flesh off your face on the bounce up..

Magnum...still do ride it first, even with MF around..althoughm honestly, that will probably change for a while...

Raptor, running straight from the main gate to get there. If we were coming in from Breakers, we'd head for Magnum, usually.

Raptor all the way, because I hate to admit it, but before last year I didn't have the internet, and I didn't even considered myself a roller coaster enthusiast - or even knew there was such a term.

I always got in the Raptor line that stretched out to the midway. I never really thought about going straight to the back of the park, like much of the general public.

I discovered this site about a week after I went to the park. This somewhat angered me since I found out an abundance of information AFTER I went.

I always do Iron Dragon first. It's a nice warm-up.

Mine used to be Iron Dragon, but since I had a five minute wait for Magnum, I'd go there first.

Magnum-Just Ride It!!!

I've rode a bunch of rides first thing. Nothing compares to being the first one in the first seat of Mean Streak first thing in the morning. The ride feels s m o o t h. ;)

We would usually ride ID. And, we still ride ID first (we arrive too late to ride MF first because of TTR!)

Mean Streak of course! J/K its always was Magnum, now it just depends on the time of day, when and where I enter the park and how long the lines are.

Way way back in time, it would be the Mill Race. But that was when trips to CP were rare gems (translation: before I started getting a season pass). Now, it's dependent on a number of factors, such as "Who am I with?", "What time of day am I arriving?", and "Who let all these other people in the park to make all of these lines so long?" I can't think of any single ride that I would not ride first during any given trip to CP, but Magnum seems to edge out the rest of the competition during most trips.

pretty amazing, IMO, when Magnum becomes a warm-up for another ride(MF)...seems like everything else used to be a warm-up for Magnum!! LOL!!

Raptor, without a doubt!!

each trip is differnet for me, but on may 31 i think it was, we had to get a front seat fog ride in on magnum,if i knew fog was going to stick around for 2 hours, would have tried mf first,but magnum in the fog is a good ride(would love to see a heavy fog all day once)anyone caught a nice foggy raptor ride , and if so, is it as neat as it seems it would be?

For me the first ride would either be the Raptor or the Sky Ride.
