375.4 miles is the total one-way trip from my front door to the Hotel Breakers. We typically start our vacation first thing Saturday morning, so I like to leave Friday after work and stay in the Cleveland area somewhere Friday night -- then up bright and early on Saturday morning and off to Sandusky (especially so this year since we can check in at 8:00 AM and get the early entry for being a Breakers guest.
Checked out Priceline and came up with a $25 stay at the Holiday Inn Select in Strongsville ($34 with tax and fees). The price on the Holiday Inn website is $83.00 plus tax. Big savings! It's about 5 miles south of exit 10 on the Ohio Turnpike, so I'm not going far out of my way.
Now my question. Is anyone familiar with this place? Can't beat the price, and I'm looking for something clean and comfortable.

Strongsville is a very nice neighborhood to be in. It is an upper middle class type neighborhood and a growing city. They have a major mall with plenty of shopping if you need anything before you go to CP.
It is a short ride of less than an hour from the park. For the price, you can't beat it.
That's my neighborhood, Duane, and it's not even five miles from the turnpike. Probably less than two, actually. (I live in Brunswick, the next town south on I-71.) You're looking at about an hour drive to the park, maybe five minutes less. The best way to drive from there is turnpike to SR 57 (exit 8 I think), north a "block" to SR 2 west, exit Rye Beach Rd., turn right, turn left, you'll figure out the rest.
If it's the hotel I'm thinking of, it's right between I-71 and the Cleveland Metroparks. On the other side of the freeway there on SR 82 (Royalton Rd.) is South Park Mall and many restaurants and other retail. A little further down you'll also find a Target and a TGI Friday's.
While I can't say I know anything about the hotel, it's a nice enough area.
