I pay for it, but still get ads, about once a day. Pop ups, Banners, everything.
What's up with that?

You might have adware (not "spyware") on your computer that is running in the background and giving you popups.
Try running one of the popular adware removal tools and see if that helps.
I agree with exit. You might want to try downloading and running "AdAware." (Notice the difference in spelling for "adware.")

That or Spybot - Search and Destroy
I used to like Spybot, but then I realized that it wasn't ever deleting anything and it sent it all to some "quarantine" that really wasn't much of a quarantine at all. I prefer AdAware and Trend Micro's online removal tool.
I run "Ad-aware" and "Spybot" every couple of weeks. I don't think the problem is on my end.

The problem I've found with using both of them is that I always wound up with something that the other one didn't catch. Try using just one and see if that does anything.
The problem isn't here. If you're logged in and a member, the ad code isn't rendered. It's one line of code at the start of every page execution.

I guarantee you I don't have any spyware on this computer (or my work machine) and I occasionally will get one page with ads and then I can reload and they go away.
Yep, Ben, same thing here.
Once you go to another page, the ads go away.
Very odd.

I experienced that problem for a while too, but I haven't seen it in two or three weeks. It typically came when someone in the forum posted a link to another page on this site (such as construction pictures). The link would open with ads on the page. Like I said though, it hasn't happened in a while.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
If you're logged in on the www. domain but not the domain without www., or vice versa, then that would cause a problem. If you have some goofy "security" software messing with cookies, that could also screw things up.

There must be a really strange race condition in the code, or some data caching oddity.
