I was just curious as to what everyone's feelings are: Do you prefer the Space Shot or Turbo Drop?
Everyone I talk to says that they like the Turbo Drop better. I don't get that. IMO, the Space Shotis a much more thrilling ride. The way when you hit the top you feel "weightless" for a few seconds. Not to mention that there is no other experience in the park even remotely similar to that. (And maybe the fact that the red side's lines are almost always shorter:))
What do you guys think?
I like the drop better, however just recently tried something on the rocket up side....
Hands under your butt and look straight up as you rise or shoot up..pretty intense feeling!!

I MUCH prefer the Space Shot. To me the Turbo Drop doesn't feel much different than any other freefall. The Space Shot, on the other hand, is a different feeling, and the floating on that first bounce is awesome.
And, as you said, the Space Shot's wait is usually shorter :)

The Turbo Drop is a one of a kind thrill (even though there are others, I have never riden any of them) and is a fast, powerfull ride.

UP! All the way! Like you said GregLeg, down is not much different than any other drop - go on MF if you want something like that! Going up, it is so cool just sitting at the bottom there, the guy says clear, and youre just waiting.......and then THERE YOU FLY!! Like a rubber band! It's a great feeling at the top

So, you did try it Jeff?
I recently decided that I like SS much better, after a PT Ride Op told me the best way to ride. Like Jeffrey Spartan said, put your hands under your seat, and look straight up at that huge tower above you. It is a very cool feeling.

I like down the best. Last time I rode the ride op let me take off my shoes and It was a great feeling.

Whats life if you never get to the point?
Wait a second. The least I feel on Space shot is weightless. When you get to the top they have to push the car back down because the ride doesn't lose enough of the original momentum. The only good thing about the Space Shot is the suprise of being shot into the air. It is GREAT. The Turbo Drop is better in my opinion. My cousin said it should be illegal to let people sit up at the top for so long. The anticipation is gut wrenching

Right on the money Magnum2G3! As far as I am concerned, PT's Turbo Drop is the scariest ride at CP. Is it just me or are the seats slightly slanted downward so you are almost leaning forward?

"Aaahhh BUCKLE THIS! LUDICROUS SPEED, GO!!!!!"-Spaceballs
The space shot ALL THE WAY! It is just so much cooler. The antisipation is so great, you never know when it is going to go. I'll admit the turbo drop is cool, but the space shot is just so much more intense, you go fast when you go up, and go down.

Definately, DOWN. Up's kinda lame.

Going down is my vote. I like the space shot too, but it seems as though you adapt to it too quick and the thrill is gone. The drop scares the living daylights out of me...and I like it.
yep tried it tyler!!

While I thnk the turbo drop is scarier, the space shot is by far the more unique experience.
I like the Turbo Drop better for a few reasons...
1). you get a long time to look around the whole Cedar Point area.
2). When you are at the top 240 feet in the air waiting to be dropped tho the ground in a matter of seconds that really makes you heart beat alot faster.
3). When you are about to hit the top of the tower there is a little jerk of the car before you stop at the top and that is really scary.
4). Just the whole thought of being 240 feet in the air with nothing but a seat belt and a harness thats great.
My opinion is slightly skewed by the fact that I have a large freefall tower right in my own (figurative) backyard -- Pittfall is a 250' Intamin Freefall tower at Kennywood. The same getting hoisted up, hang there, look around, then DROP feeling. The Turbo Drop "shoots" you down, but the feeling honestly isn't that different than the "real freefall".
So I prefer the Space Shot side, because of the novelty.

Has anyone ever tried the Turbo Drop side with 'no hands'? That is, after you are lifted up to the top, you extend your arms straight out in front of you. The when you drop without hanging onto anything, such as the handles on the shoulder harness, it produces a one-of-a-kind intense feeling.
There is no Anticipation on Space shot. When they say "Clear" you know you are on your way up

There's a little. I like the little hop it makes before it launches.
And yes there is some surprise. I saw a guy look around for 15 second, then look down only to get launched right then. =) I think he saw his feet for the rest of the day.
Seeing as how there are other rides that drop you near or more than 240 feet, I prefer the shots.
