Power Tower problems?

I was at Cedar Point on the 12th, and I wanted to go on the green side of Power Tower, but it was broken. My friend, who has never been to Cedar Point before (how, I don't know) wanted to go on Corkscrew. So as we were heading over there, we noticed two guys standing ontop of one of the cars going slowly up one of the green towers. They were at the top for a while, then came back down. Then they sent an empty car up, and it just sat at the top for at least 10 minutes. After that, they sent up a couple more that seemed to go really really slow up, and after it dropped it only went back up a quarter of the way, then came back down and it was over. Obviously, they were having problems and I was just wondering if anyone knew what had happened?

Something wasn't right. Happens all of the time on rides. Why do we have a new thread every time someone sees a ride is closed?

So close it.

It happens. Rides that have parts in motion tend to break eventually.

I can't tell you what was up with PT, but if you saw all of that while waiting in the queue for Corkscrew, I can tell you that you waited far too long for a ride! :)

You actually had to wait for a ride on Corkscrew.

Back on topic, anything that moves will break eventually just like bholcomb said. When you run a ride and keep repeating it a few hundred times a day, somethings bound to break/ wear out sometime.

Well as I said it was my friend's first time there and she wanted to get on all the coasters since that's what CP is known for. I was really surprised at the lines! I've never seen lines that long for Corkscrew, except for maybe when it opened, but I wasn't even alive then. We had to wait almost 35 minutes for Corkscrew, which I thought was such a waste of time but I've been on all the rides before so I decided that I would go on whatever she wanted to...

Queue fail! Ouch.

As for PT, I'm sure they'll have it back up again very soon if not already. That style of drop ride is very efficient, so the repairs should be pretty quick.

Where's the threads for the games that closed? or the arcade machine that's Out of Order?

Oh hey, Sky Refreshments is closed, must be an exhaust fan malfunction!

I agree with you Jeff. I say, "Save it for emergencies. Heh."

I was at the Point the same day that Micool waited 35 minutes for the Corkscrew and I had to wait 40 minutes for the Mine Ride. Ugh.

^My question to you is if all the rides were this long why not stand in a line for a bigger coaster and wait a little longer.

You would not catch me at any park (standing in line at least) with lines being that long.

^ My family wanted to ride the Mine Ride, so I decided to ride it with them. Otherwise, I would have been waiting in line for the Millennium Force.

I would rather ride Woodstock Express, than the Mine Ride. :)

Ok sorry, for some reason I thought you may have been by yourself. Sorry if I sounded rude.

Or it could be the new purple light on top? It's been white all season and now it's a pretty white and purple!

Just a thought...

They must have been only running 1 or 2 trains. Not that 3 trains help that line all that much, but that is ridiculous. The dispatch times on that ride are horrible. Even with 3 trains it moves sooooooo slow.

The Mine Ride deffinetely isn't one of their "high" capacity rides. They were only running 2 trains during the day and only ran 1 at night.

And for Corkscrew, they only had the red and white trains running, and the blue one just sitting there lookin' all sad and lonely, ha.

Where the long wait days for Corkscrew and Mine Ride during the Cleveland Clinic days? On my trip they were running two trains on each and we only had a two train station wait on both. This sounds like a long line for a regular day with no big picnics for these rides.
