Power Tower New Sign

I didn't notice until today, but CP posted a picture of Power Tower's new entrance sign to twitter. I think it looks pretty cool.

The ride definitely needed a proper entrance sign. However, to me the sign looks outdated. It's better than nothing though.

I think the term is "period correct" rather than "outdated"

Did it not use to have a sign?

Had a different entrance too. I don't think the old entrance had very good signage either. I think it makes a big difference since they moved the entrance and should have better signage. For the people that don't go every year.

This thing already had a sign...300' up.

This also gets rid of the line jumpers that hop the employee gate behind super...I used to have to watch that like a hawk and either yell at them or call over to power tower and get em moved to the back or kicked out of line...the stress of being a ride op

They moved the entrance a couple of years ago, I believe. Nice sign, though. Only took 20 years?

Power Tower installed in 1998.

Also, I believe they moved the entrance for last year's season. Used to be in between Corkscrew's loop and Corkscrew's final hill up to the break run. Unless it was in a different spot before.

I am pretty sure that the entrance was moved to the new location at the start of last year. The new stand for the sign kind of looks like one of the towers.

Actually, the sign looks like a cheap (in a financial way) method of using stuff they have sitting around in storage piles to create something that has been needed for awhile. Looks decent, and probably cost them next to nothing...

I understand that any idiot who goes to the park should be able to see the Power Tower, find the line for it, and get in line. But rides should have some type of signage at the gate. Not saying they should be themed or have props or anamotronics. The entrance was moved last year. For them to make improvements to a ride that has been there 15 years is good news. Cheap would have been leaving the gate where it was.

The entrance sign might look cheap, but I bet it wasn't.

To me, it doesn't look cheap at all, it's pretty cool. In an abstract way, it reminds me of the passenger carrier traveling up or down the tower on the actual ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I think it fits. It looks like a sign I would expect for Power Tower.

My next question, is the op working entrance going to be authorized to use that fire extinguisher on passing smokers?

...so what did the sign look like before?

It looked like a 300' tower with four columns, lit up at night, that reads Power Tower and Cedar Point on it. :)
