Power Tower in Rolling Stone

In the August 22 issue of rolling stone, there is a picture of Stan Checketts (S&S Power) standing atop the Power tower. Man does that look scary. (p. 60)

That's the same promo that S&S had in Amusement Today before they had Dodonpa as the advertisement. I marveled at how crazy he is...I wouldn't mind standing up there either.

I read the article, and actually decided to buy the magazine. I thought it was very good despite several mistakes (B&M makes a floorless stand-up, I think not) and that annoying box about ride deaths.

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

It says "Cedat Point tower" as in the tower is generic, and not the name of the ride. There are other S&S shot and drop rides named Power Tower.

The shot in Amusement Today is a different one, but obviously taken the sae day. It is panned over to the left a bit. I believe Mantis' supports are visible in that one.
