Wooooooo.........
I'm Back. The drop side is BY FAR better than the launch.
I'm doing that again tommorow.

(I prefer demon drop over Power Tower - It's a betterfree fall feeling)
That's because PT down is NOT free-fall. Its a launched drop.
Goodbye MrScott
John
THE DROP SIDE IS WAY BETTER!!!

This will likely never happen as most guests wouldn't know the difference, but I would really love a true freefall tower, especially after they demolished Dungeon Drop along with SFAW. I'm just imagining, but it would just be sweet to have like an Intamin 500 ft freefall tower on the beach. Hehe :)
TedFuzz. No longer manually signing posts. Too bad. =(

Ron Paul 2008/2012!
I rode Drop Tower at Kings Island and it was much more enjoyable than Power Tower. Granted Drop Tower is taller than Power Tower, but the freefall feeling was so much fun. It was much more intense than the drop side of Power Tower.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I've also ridden the drop towers of Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion, and Kings Island and I have to say that if the brakes at the end of a 500ft drop tower like Kings Dominion won't pull too many g's, than that would be VERY NICE.

^^I too have ridden the drop tower at Kings Island, and
that 20 extra feet of height, and the free fall feeling
really gets you compared to power tower drop side...
Much more powerful fall at Kings Island...
I would like to see a free fall tower in the center
area between Blue Streak, Raptor, Calypso, and the new
Boo Hill Location...:)
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
How much of Power Tower's hight is that cap on top?
Also, any update on Power Towers' Lighting?
I'll be Coasting for Kids on June 9th

If you ask me, the blue/green side is way better than red.
The ride up to the top is slow and relaxing. When you reach the top, you're treated to a nice view for what seems like forever. The anticipation builds when you have no idea when you're going to drop.On the ride side, you're just launched up quickly, then lowered back down - pretty boring.
I think most people would agree.
For me, the ride up is anything but relaxing. lol. That ride scares the bejeezus outta me. But I ride them everytime. I always try to get out of it, but I never can because the lines are never long enough. I get stressed out sitting up at the top, but once it starts falling, I'm fine. My white knuckles dissappear. :-)
I personally like the shot side. I've always hated drop rides. Your mom has nothing to worry about, the cables on power tower are enclosed in the yellow tubes in the center of each leg. Just look at the old BEHIND THE RIDES for power tower. (Read the comment by Zach)
