Does Cedar Point count Power Tower as 2 rides or 1?

I think one, because there is only the one entrance, like Gemini -- the line splits after the entrance. And I know the crew rotates as if it is one ride too.

I would call them one ride, as does Cedar Point. However, last year I was in line for the SS side of PT both towers broke down, and they told us we could leave the line if we wanted to, and all the usual stuff. The ride ops were going to open our line into the TD side, but right before they let people on, they got a call from management and said no. Their reason was that it was "two seperate rides". When they said this, I figured that since they have two sets of queues then maybe they were right.... but then again, as the owl says "...the world may never know!" :)

CABEWNCP, if you are making the cultural allusion I am thinking of, then it isn't the owl who said that. The owl said "Three." The closing V/O said that the world may never know. :)

whwt would happen if powertowers cable broke. i know it has in the past but what are the saftey features or back-up for the cable

Break one, you've still got three left. If they all fail you have those long pistons at the base of the tower for what is probably a less-than-gentle bounce!
