Power Outtage

Great cable snap??? I could picture a cable falling beneath the lift hill. And would the cable snap in the station? It would be great to find out more on that.

And think what it would look like and people, if there was a power outtage at night! Weird, compleatly dark, people paniking and screaming of not being able to see and running in to poles, falling into the lagoon.

Just interesting to think about.

The cable doesn't go into the station. The sled does, but the cable turns around at the base of the lift. The cable broke a couple of years ago on a morning test run with ride ops and ride prides on the train. The broken cable and sled really messed up the sled channel/anti-rollback teeth on the way down. The kicker was that they knew the cable was begining to fray but put off its replacement until after that weekend.

Actually, I thought about this last weekend. Considering CP's slightly remote location out into the lake, but if the powere were to go out just at CP, there would still be the glow of the town lights. If it was a larger area that included CP such as the great blackout, well, hopefully it won't be a new moon. However never fear, human eyes adjust to sudden light changes good enough. Plus some areas do have emergency lighting such as Dragster platform. Every area of the park has a enough flashlights for employees to assist people in seeing. All in all, the moon is still over head providing light. ;)
