I was just reading that there was a power outage at the park tonight. If anyone was there, feel free to share.

The only thing I noticed was that Matterhorn, Power Tower and Corkscrew had no power. Everything else seemed normal. I didn't notice if MF was running, didn't make it over there.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I was there and left the park at 725 and in the car on the way out it was my friend who noticed that a few rides were stuck but I didn't think much of it at the time
Like Pete said, there was only a select few rides without power. Not sure what happened with MF it was already closed before the power thing happened. Waited to see if it was going to open up before close, but left to go ride Magnum around 9:45.
I was there most of yesterday, including the time when the power was out. We saw Iron Dragon was closed around 8-830pm, but I thought it was because they were going to be getting ready for Luminosity, and I think it closes during that show anyway. We also saw a line forming outside the MF queue, and that it was closed, but didnt go to investigate why. Things seemed up and running a short time later. Didn't look at all like the big deal that the local news stations are trying to make it out to be.
Maverick is down today due to the electrical issues.
EDIT: This is how things get reported wrong all the time. In my hurry to get back to MF for ERT this AM I heard the lady at the gate say that Maverick was closed all day due to the electrical issues.
What my wife heard is that Maverick would be down during ERT time. Another lady entering the park then asked the employee if it was due to the electrical issues, to which the employee responded that she didn't think so... Of course my selective hearing did not hear any of this other stuff.
I don't understand why a minor power outage at CP would make it on the news. These stations find it necessary to sensationalize everything trying to get ratings, but what they don't understand is that it is getting harder and harder to justify taking time out of my day to watch the fluff they now call news.

Surprised the MVC on the causeway didn't make the news..

Well, when we walked into the park today we were told Maverick will be down today but they are running unloaded trains so I have no clue what the story is.
The breaking news though is that my daughter and I were not able to ride Woodstock express as they lost power... Her first breakdown while on a coaster.
EDIT: Maverick is indeed running today and I misheard what was said at the gate... Apologies for posting bad information, however I am practicing to work for a local news channel when I grow up...
Why, all of a sudden, does a new thread have to be made every time something breaks down or malfunctions?
! - Isn't that what this forum is for?
thedevariouseffect - do tell what is a "MVC"?

I thought MVC was Multi Vehicle Crash, that's what I guessed.

^^ Wikipedia defines MVC as "Motor Vehicle Collision".
Also, did you just say that the point of PointBuzz (no pun intended) is to report on every single instance of downtime around the park? Rides go down throughout the day for various reasons. Complex machines have complex safety systems that (hopefully) prevent them from running in *potentially* unsafe situations. That doesn't mean anything horribly wrong has occurred.. Instead, it's an effort to keep something from going horribly wrong. In other words, nothing noteworthy 99% of the time.
Yeah, Sat there was a pretty hefty MVC on the causeway. SUV ran into the back of a van, dented it in pretty good. Saw ALS get out spine boards/c collars & whatnot. Pretty bad way to end a day at an amusement park for those involved. Looked like everyone was pretty much ok, and cars involved at least from my scene size up didn't look terrible. A pillars were intact and steering wheels weren't affected. But regardless still cruddy ending to their day, and surprisingly unreported. But zomg power outages and everything was fine.

This ^^^^^^^^
I posted a comment on one of the news channels FB post about this last night saying pretty much the same thing. They sensationalize EVERYTHING just to get clicks. I won't even watch their local news broadcasts anymore because I can't stand it.
Well for me I didn't notice a power outage until around 7:45pm. I was heading back to Top Thrill Dragster to get my Pipe scream bottle and noticed that the Extreme store had no power. This is also when I noticed Mantis, Millennium Force, Iron Dragon, and Corkscrew were all down because of no power as well.
Another thing that my friend noticed was while I was in Maverick's queue house, some girl jumped in the pond area to retriever her friends smart phone. I don't know If I'd be that desperate to jump in that kind of water just to retrieve my friends smart phone. I'd rather just go back to my carrier and tell them It just vanished out of nowhere.
