Posting privileges

How about a system where you have to earn posting privliges? For example, a new member could only post 1 or 2 times a day and could not make their own topics. This should keep the board from getting flooded in the summertime.

We're using a "warning points" system right now. Once you get three, you can't post for 72 hours. It's proven helpful in a few cases.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to check to see if you have any points? (I dont' think I do because I try to stick to the guidlines as best as possible, but it would be nice to know where to check)

Oh, I was unaware of that. That seems ok, although it does require you guys to watch the boards pretty closely.
I know you guys are talking about me so i would like to know what i can do to be better at this. thanks you

Here's a tip about whether a topic would violate the guidlines at all. If you have to ask, don't make the thread.
That topic kinda falls under the column of no real answer just started to start fights.

Read the rules and pay attention to #1 and #4. It's really not that difficult.

"People like to read real, spelled out words, with capitalization and punctuation."

"questions that have no real answers (what are crowds like at... what will that park build...) and threads that contain best... favorite... top 10... worst... versus... most... are simply not interesting to read by anyone other than the person who started the topic."
