The May 2000 issue of Popular Science states:
After a 26-story ascent, the new Goliath coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain drops riders more than 250 feet at a 61 degree angle. The 85-mph, mile-long coaster is the TALLEST AND FASTEST COASTER WITHOUT LOOPS OR INVERSIONS.
It it just me, or is this incorrect (:

Goliath is the TAllEST and the FASTEST until May 13, 2000.

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
YEs, back when they wrote it, Goliath was the tallest and fastest. On a side note, I do hope maybe Pop Sci could do 1-2 page article on Mf

Hometown parks: Kennywood, Cedar Point!
33 days until The Force
They already did a "What's New" feature awhile back.
Noooooo, Goliath is the tallest and fastest until May 7!

Thank you for riding Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's RollerCoast!
Actually the Force has already ran with a few lucky people, so in my book Goliath, like Six Flags is only second best. :)

Hey Dan that's nothing new. Six Flags HAS always been, and WILL always be 2nd best! LOL!:)
The Popular Science issue was a May issue. That is why I question it. If it had been an April one, that would have made a difference if you know what I mean.
Keep in mind that most print magazines have giant lead times. The copy was probably written two months ago.

Wait a minute, I thought SUPERMAN THE ESCAPE was the tallest and fastest rollercoaster?
Haven't you heard? Ever since GOLIATH opened, SUPERMAN: THE ESCAPE isn't a coaster anymore. At least, that seems to be what Magic Mountain is saying...

LOL...O I C, talk about being hypocritical...Well, I guess that story is another subject.
