POLL: Cedar Fair wants YOU!

Dick Kinzel on the phone for you again.  He liked your ideas on restaurants so much that he's offering you a job with Cedar Fair!

Any position you want!

What job would you choose and why ?
The only catch here is you have to be qualified for the position (should rule out all the roller-coaster designer wannabees - besides, they're not CF employees) but you get to decide what qualifies you !
Tell us your dream job anywhere within Cedar Fair, LP and then sell us on why you deserve this job !

Signatures Suck.

Someplace in planning and design.  Not that I can design.  I'm actually no good at designing, but that doesn't rule out the planning part. I would be able to help find new ways to develop the land.  Figurativly, I can squeeze an elephant into a peanut shell, and vice-versa.  I also know the point inside and out liek the back of my hand .  Well close to. Give me the chance and I'll make Cedar Fair parks the next few wonders of the modern world. :) (Now if only if getting a good job was that easy)

Since I have 4+ years in retail and am nearing a Business Degree, I think I would be qualified to work in merchandise somewhere in the middle.

I'd want John Hildebrant's job, VP of marketing. He gets to know all about the next big thing without worrying about how it will be built. His staff just has to sell it. They're a swell bunch to work with too, except for that Bryan Edwards guy. ;)

Well I think I'm half qualfied to do Dan Fieht's job.  I have the photography side down  (I'd have down even better if I had some of his equipment)  The video side of it I would learn really quickly.

Definitely landscaping.  Although my real job is creating computer access ID's and email/postmaster duties, gardening and landscaping is what I enjoy.  I'd love to use my artistic skills and design some nice "pictures" from flowers to be seen from the Sky Ride.

I sort of had my dream job at Cedar Point.  Funny how your dreams can change though.  What I wanted when I was younger was not necessarily what I needed when I was older.

It looks like it is all fun and games but those full-timers don't get the credit they deserve.  It is a demanding job that keeps you away from your families for at least five months out of the year and the pay is generally less than what you can make elsewhere.

The people who do it and have been doing it for a long time have CP in their blood.

Damn, how do I keep missing his calls!?! :)

I'd definitely want to hold a position in the planning and design area. I love the concept and construction of the rides, and getting to see the ride from concept to paper to end product would really be amazing. I wouldn't mind the part about worrying about the development either, because the areas that could be used are generally obvious. Fitting the new rides into those areas of the park theme-wise may be a challenge, but I'd be up for it. I wouldn't mind shadowing one of those people for a day for an exploratory career project if they had the "master plans" laying around either. :)

From what I understand, and seeing all of the ancient terminals around the park, I doubt that's a job you'd really want!

Let's split Dan F's job. I've got the video part down pretty good. :)

I'll take the Webmaster position. I think I already have more than enough experience and talent. Plus no relocation would be involved :)

I would want to be the general manager. Maybe park president.

I'd have to say the IS dept. also, that's what I do. Yes, some of the stuff needs modernization, but replacing the dead wood would really make a difference, which equals job satisfaction.

Unless you start first thing in the morning.
The only way I would tackle the IS department is if I was certain the people who make the financial decisions both agreed that technology was important and agreed to spend the necessary money to do the job right the first time.

I am not sure the decision makers at Cedar Fair are quite there yet.

Bryan Eward's position! {He's the best}

I want to work in the accounting office.  I have worked for 6 major golf tournaments and the work load is unbelieveable for a solid week.  I would love to work at that pace for the summer.  I've worked the 16+ hours a day, no time off, grab bfast/lunch/dinner on the run and had an absolute blast.  Twenty more years until retirement and then I'll have the best summer job in the world.

First, I'm very impressed that nobody so far has come up with "I wanna run Millennium Force!"
After much consideration, I think I'd like to be the head of merchandise buying.  I used to run a chain of sports fan shops and I have a pretty good feel for what kind of souvenir stuff people are inclined to spend their money on.
Cedar Point (and CF in general) has become much better in this area in the past two years, but they still have a long way to go...
(edited for typo)
