PointBuzzer phrases in the park?

I was reading in the employee lounge forum about the "running of the bulls", which I assumed was their way of describing the opening gate rush of people to the rides. I'm sure there are other ones of interest, and humor. When waiting in the Millenium Force staging area, those who don't make the seat-belt-squeeze requirement not only hold up the riders, but have to get out and walk to the SPECIAL exit. My son calls it "the death walk".Pretty embarrasing for the spouse who decides to stays for the ride. Any other phrases you use regularly in the park? *** Edited 4/20/2006 12:57:35 PM UTC by Frito Joe***

"Running of the Bulls" is in reference to running to MF for one of the first rides

I've seen it but never done it. They almost spilled my coffee on their way and that did not make me happy.

Yet, I've had many walk-on's on MF. You just have to know when to ride.

Ah, American pie..what a great series... ;)

PS: The only time MrScott runs is when someone is chasing him.

My friends and I do a yearly trip and we also have a "title" for those who do not make the belt requirement on Millenium Force. We call it The Walk Of Shame. The funny thing is that one of my friends that goes with us on the yearly trip has been having some "technical difficulties" with those darn seatbelts.

I've done the "run" for TTD, but not for MF. First Top Thrill launch of the day is AMAZING. It's so creepy seeing an empty station, they actually have to wait for the train to fill up first (just creepy because of how reversed it is).

If people are chasing MrScott, he needs to invest in a .45.

I'm in agreeance with David Sagert in calling it the "The Walk of Shame" when someone is rejected from riding MF. Although this might stem from a similar phenomenon witnessed many mornings at college (although some refer to it as the "Stride of Pride" ;)).

My closest was 11th train out on Dragster. It was the only time I was ever in a station early enough.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

First train of the season, now that would be amazing.

As far as secrets, all I can suggest is come in through the Magnum entrance (aka Soak City parking lot), get to the resort/JCC entry time (they don't usually check though, so don't worry about it if you're not either of those). Get there EARLY, I've seen people like camp out and bring books to read and stuff. As soon as you get through the gates, RUN YOUR TAIL OFF straight to the Top Thrill entrance, lol.

Being Day 1 of the season and all, there'll probably be more of a crowd etc, so be sure to get there plenty early. Good luck Have fun :)

I plan on getting to the park by 8:00. Would that be early enough? And is the Magnum Enterance really open opening day?

One more question, how early are cars allowed past the tolls?

I really dont care what seat I get, I just want the first (or even second) train.
Thanks again for the help.

The Magnum gate is open on opening day. Why wouldn't it be? That is the gate resort guests use. And trust me, 8:00 will put you back at about 40 people in the line if it is like last season. That is why I plan on leaving my room in the Towers section no later than 7:15.

I also call the mad rush for MF/TTD in the morning the running of the bulls.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I remember getting to work at 6:50 am last year and seeing guests go through the tolls. I'm not sure about the back parking lot, but i know you can park in the main parking lot really early.

If you want the first train of the season on Dragster getting there at 8 wont be early enough. You have to remember that is also the closest entrance for Sky Hawk too so people will be getting there super early for that. Also when you get to the park don't drive down the main causeway, come up the Chausee that way you can get in as early as you need to.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I think its strange how people will wait at the gates for hours, so they can wait for another hour in line. You guys are just a bit too... umm... dedicated.

Brandon

We always get to the gate (usually the Magnum one, sometimes the Marina one) about 10 minutes before we can get in. No problem. At least in May or September...

Ok, thanks everyone for the help.

The only problem I have is convincing my friends to get up early enough (I have no problem getting up early). Just to get to the park by 8 we have to leave home by 6. I'm going to try to get my friend to go a little bit earlier. Plus, because I have a Graduated Drivers liscense, I have times in which I can't be driving. 5am is the earliest so if we can get out by 5:45 (which he said he might be able to do) then I hope it'll help me out some.

Hey, if you're driving, tell them the "bus" is leaving at 0530 - with or without them! ;)

I do know what you mean, though. I'm an early riser (4:45am weekdays, 7:30am weekends), so I enjoy getting an early start - luckily, I only have to convince my sig. other to wake up, which isn't difficult at all, as I let her sleep on the way.

Brandon

I live in Holland Michigan, and have made the National Anthem and Running of the Bulls. And that's after a 5 hour drive.
