WOW! Fantastic job cyberman! You should have done it on one of those craft pumpkins, that way you wouldn't have had to throw away such a masterpiece.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Pumpkin carving is like my "thing" - if I have one at all. Many people can attest to that.
Actually I did carve that on a craft pumpkin, so it is forever etched in my yearly display.

I suppose it's kinda sad that I've been lurking at this site for years yet THIS is the thread that has prompted me to finally register and post. :D
Unfortunately it seems picoodle's image servers are down or something, so I can't see raptorTDC's pics at the moment.
In any case, I too carved a version of the Maverick logo this year:

Because the rope didn't look like rope in silhouette, I was going to eliminate it altogether until I got the idea to use a silhouette of the track instead. Luckily, the perfect photo to use as a model could be found in the Extra Point gallery of CP's website.
For the gory details, check my blog post about it.
cyberdman, I love the logo-o'-lantern! It just happens logos are one of my interests, and I briefly considered simply doing the MilF or CP logo instead of Maverick. I also thought about a tombstone-shaped "RIP Geauga Lake"-o'-lantern. ;)

I have to give you guys a ton of credit. I can tell you I am not that artistically talent with pumpkins. I have a pumpkin sitting on my porch and would love to have the time and talent to make it a CP one!
Great work! :)
