I have been away for a while and am just starting to catch up on my GTTP reading. I gotta get something straight here.
Did they take out the waterball fountain in front of Raptor? Is that where the new fountain was supposed to go? I read they stoped because they would not finsih in time, so is there a hole in the ground now? And is it gonna stay like that?

No, I believe the waterball is still there.
They can get paid better.

GO SHAMROCKS! GO WOLVERINES!
I wonder if this effects the coolness of the drinking fountains. Also, does anyone know if the other unions striked in support? It could get serious if they did. It's not like they can call Mario.
YES , ALL the union employees were on Strike today. It was very dead over there today. NO work got done.
Are they going to go out to the end of the Causeway on Rt.6 with a bond fire in an old steel oil barrel and pace in circles and picket CP??? If so, that would be funny to see!!!!
Be interesting to see if the labor relations boards will punish the other unions for breaking contract.
They were picketing at the corner of First St/Causeway and on Cleveland Rd @ the Chausee yesterday. They are out there again this morning.

All these guys want is attention. Let's not give it to them. They'll return to work in a few days. Remember- Cedar Point doesn't have to even hire as many union employees as they do.
According to the Toledo Blade all the other union workers are honoring the picket line. Including outside construction workers finishing Lighthouse Point and other projects. No maintenance work was done at the Point and projects like the track work on Blue Streak and Gemini are stalled. The Blade speculates that a strike could delay the opening of the park, though a park official said they will try their best to get the park ready to open on time. The plumbers dispute revolves around CP's desire to hire non-union help for future construction projects. You may read the article at:
Bob the Tomato all they want is job security! If CP is jerking them around more power to them! But don't ever assume they will go back to work in a couple of days! UPS and Meijers strikes have lasted longer! I'm grateful that the plumbers are sticking up for their rights, and it justs shows you that big business doesn't always get their way! I however hope that the problem is solved peacefully. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hoo Boy!!" -May Day Parker -Spidergirl!
