My son and I will be going to Geauga Lake for the first time ever on Sat and Sun, August 13 and 14. We'll be staying at the Geauga Lake Hotel and we're very excited, but I have a couple questions in particular.
1. What's the best strategy for hitting all ten coasters as quickly as possible. That will be our first goal when we get there. It will be a Saturday, so I'm assuming we'll have to wait in lines for some of them.
2. What other rides are can't miss. I'm hoping we'll have time to ride basically everything, but I don't wanna overlook any cool rides.
3. What's the procedure for using a CP pass to enter the park. Can you just go right in the main gate, or do you have to stop at a pre-purchased ticket office like at Michigan's Adventure. I just don't want to waste time figuring it out when we get there. I want to be among the first to enter the park when it opens.
Any other information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way, after we leave Geauga Lake Sunday night, we'll be spending four days at Cedar Point!!!! Yay... summer vacation!!

1. Well you can take it one of two ways. When we go I start with X-flight, SV, HS, and BD. Then we'll work our way around to Villain, DL, BLMR(yes we ride the kiddie coaster), then onto Dominator and RWB. We always tend to skip Thunderhawk just because neither of us enjoy the ride. Or you can do the opposite and go the other way around.
2. Most of the flat and water rides don't seem to have long lines. Most are along the same path of the roller coasters listed above and are an easy fix between coasters.
3. We both have Cedar Point season passes with the Geuaga lake add-on. The pass works just like any other pass. Just walk into the standard lines and your pass will be scanned. The park usually opens early, but once inside you can't go very far exept for gift shops. Then at 10 the chains will be dropped allowing you to go whatever direction you choose. Hopefully you and your son will have a GREAT trip to both Cedar Point and Geuaga Lake. I would also consider taking your suits and spending a few hours on either Sat or Sun checking out Wild Water Kingdom!! The water is warm and its a nice way to cool off.
I wouldn't miss the texas twister. (a huss top spin.)(btw cp needs one) I do not go to geauga lake often but this is my favorite ride there other than head spin. I also like the time warp. It is tame and virtually no one rides it so you can walk on. Literally!!!!! I had no wait what so ever. This was the same with texas twister also.
Have fun!!!
Thanks for the replies, fellas. We will definately spend a block of time in the water park. And it sounds like there are a few flats I've never seen before, so it should be an exciting experience. This will be the first time in 20 years I've visited a park other than Cedar Point or Michigan's Adventure.
