Okay, so someone got into my car last night and stole a couple of our Platinum Passes. I do have copies that I made and laminated in case we ever forgot our passes, but has anyone ever used a copy before or has anyone had to deal with this before? I wouldn't be concerned at all except we are planning on going to Coastermania and I'm not sure what time the Season Pass center will open that day.
Worst case scenario would be you pay a replacement fee (I think it is $15 per pass) after giving some identifying info so they can look your passes up. Not sure if there are exceptions to the rule or not.

I'd file a police report as well. Not sure if CPPD could put a notice on your pass so that when someone who doesn't match the picture tries to use it, they could be detained on breaking into your car.
They may never try to use them, but worth a shot especially if other more valuable items were stolen.

Definitely request replacement passes.. You'll likely be out the $15, unfortunately. It would be cool if they could keep the old ones active but flagged stolen, though I doubt it. However, it wouldn't hurt to ask at the season pass center.
Yeah, I talked to the pass center and was told that while my copies would most likely scan okay, they would also likely be questioned. I did file a police report, and let's just say our police chief is very hopefuly that whomever ends up with them tries to use them and gets detained. In his words they would be "extremely cooperative" with the CP police. Thankfully our passes were the only things that seem to be missing so they took something that, as we all know, is worthless to somebody else. All it really ends up costing me is possibly the $30 to replace and a drive to Sandusky tonight.
The most important part is to report it to the park at this point. Glad to see you've already contacted them. Per the back of my platinum pass:
"ANY ATTEMPT TO GAIN ADMISSION USING A PLATINUM PASS BY A GUEST TO WHICH THE PASS WAS NOT ORIGINALLY ISSUED WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE CONFISCATION OF THE PASS WITHOUT REFUND."
It's not 100% clear but it sounds like you're out a pass if they try to use it before you report it to the park. Just FYI. :)
I wonder if they were interrupted or did you not have anything else in the vehicle? It seems very strange that someone would break in just to steal your passes..
Yeah I read that too, but I'm betting that probably applies to if you try to "loan" your pass to someone. I did call again and ask about it and they said no problems. Just come in and tell them what happened and they will get replaced.
There was no money or electronics in the car unless you count my daughter's Sofia the First CD. There was a lot of baseball equipment in the back though that they didn't take, and that would've hurt a lot more. They clearly went through the back because some stuff was moved around. We do live in town so maybe somebody started coming down the street. Who knows but I'm considering myself fortunate.
