Platinum Pass Question

I'm planning on becoming a first time Platinum Pass holder for 2013 which went on sale today. I want to take advantage of the deal for the free trip this year, but I'm not sure how the buying online thing works for Platinum Passes. If I buy the pass, does the pass print out and I have to keep it all year, or does it store in a database or get redeemed at a ticket booth or something like that? I've gotten single day tickets online and that was straight-forward, but I was wondering about the season passes.

We bought our children season passes for Christmas (for this season) and we printed out a voucher for each of them from our computer, which is what we presented to them in a huge wrapped box under the tree :) Then in April, about 2 or 3 weeks before opening day, we went to the park and got our pictures taken and our actual plastic passes were issued that day. I would think that for the 2013 season pass that you're buying NOW, you would do the same thing but would be able to obtain the actual pass before this current season is over.

Like EarthquakeRide said, you get a voucher for purchasing it online. You just take the voucher to the season pass processing center, hand the voucher over, get your picture taken, sign the back of the pass and you're ready to go.

I will note, if you do decide to get your pass before Cedar Point opens and are planning on going to a different park in the chain (Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Kings Island, etc.) buy your pass from that park online. Often times those parks are open earlier in the year than Cedar Point and you can their processing lines aren't too long for the first day (before noon usually). I bought my pass from Carowinds two years ago, I was there an hour before ERT (stayed at a hotel right by the park) walked up to buy my pass, walked right to processing and was set to go. I was one of the firsts in the park as it opened.

Basically it all comes down to, where are you going first?

I live closest to Wildwater Kingdom but that opens late so Cedar Point will come first. Kings Island will be a fall trip and I might hit up Kings Dominion later in the season as well. So I will be redeeming at Cedar Point.

If you buy the Pass from another park you dont get the free pass to Cedar Point this year. And as far as printing out the pass, you can always reprint the voucher if you lose it. And now anypark can process your pass, we always buy from King's Dominion because they open the earliest. But this year we didnt make it down and Dorney Park process our King's Dominion passes no problem on thier opening day.
