Platinum pass problems.

I may be going to kings dominium next week, and hope the problem has been fixed before I get there.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Secret gates? There are four gates: main, marina, Challenge Park and the resorts gate by Ocean Motion. Are you guys talking about something else?

We can not talk about the secret gate! But considering you already know and probably everyone else on this forum by now it's the :

_ _ _ _ _ _ Gate!

Whatever you do, don't look at the red arrows on the map which indicate "park entrances".

^The map looks a lot less crowded this year! They moved the ride names to the key and replaced them with colored numbers and the Restroom and First Aid symbols are smaller.

Just another example of some great park satisfaction from Cedar Point employees...

I was quite surprised to have no issues with my CP platinum pass this season. The only issue was last week at KI when the woman at the gate scanned my pass and said "this doesn't work, sorry"
I said "it's worked the last 3x I've come to this park, including this morning"

She looked at it and said "oh Im sorry-its a CP pass"-pressed a special CP button and then the pass worked. Go figure.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I'm glad to say that my Platinum Pass worked perfectly for parking and at the "Gate #3"

haha

I have a platinum pass renewal from kings island. We went to the park on Tuesday the 19th and they still didn't recognize the passes. We had to pay the 10 dollars than wait in line at customer service to finally get a paper pass to get in after 35 minutes. They told us that we would have to come back later to get the 10 dollars back. When we came back around 2, they still did not have the money. We had to wait another 30 minutes to get the money back. So, if you have a kings island renewal platinum pass, you might want to give yourself some extra time and have some patience.

I got a Platinum Pass from KI last week. We'll see next Friday if it works at CP. Better work and not waste my riding time! :)

Let's Get Weird.

They told me they were only having probleme if it is a renewal from last year.

^ I was going to say because I got my KI Platinum Pass the first Friday of the season for KI and it worked both Monday and Tuesday for parking and at the entrance gate.

So wait, Platinum passes this year work at the turnstiles at all the parks? I haven't gotten mine yet but will probably get it through Michigan's Adventure this year (live in Ohio, go to school in GRR) instead of from Cedar Point first; does this mean I won't have to keep going through Guest Services at the parks besides where I got it processed?

If you get it through Michigan's Adventure you will have to go through guest relations at Cedar Point. The only reason I know that is because during ERT Monday I walked with a guy from Maverick to Raptor just talking about the rides and stuff. He mentioned that he had to go through GR and sign in or something to get in and was surprised that my pass had worked to get me into the park.

Either way you might want to call both parks to make sure.

I can live with having to go through the little side office to get signed in. Having to pay 10 bucks and then dink around at the season pass office to get it refunded pisses me off though. It's been four years now and they still don't have it together with season pass integration. The least they could do is empower the parking employees to just let people with any platinum pass through without paying.

I had a Cedar Fair platinum pass bought at C.P. and processed at Kings Island. On opening day at C.P., it worked at the parking toll booth, but would not work at the entrance turnstiles. Guest relations issued me a paper ticket after signing in. Later that day, I went over to the season pass processing office and told them about what had happened and that I wanted to exchange my K.I. platinum pass for a C.P. platinum pass. Ultimately, they allowed me to do that without any hassle.

Just to let everyone know, today we went to the park and our renewed kings island passes worked just fine. The gentleman that helped us last time told me they are all good on season passes now.

Can anyone with a Michigan's Adventure Platinum Pass tell me if they now work flawlessly at Cedar Point?

I am planning on buying my family 4 MiAdv Platinum Passes (going to MiAdv first this year) before our 2 week trip to Sandusky. If the passes require us to pay $10 to park and get reimbursed, and to stop at the GR office to sign in everyday I might reconsider this entire trip.

Does anyone know if they work?

Platinum Passes generated by Knott's are apparently an issue. According to the Manager of Guest Services at KBF, a Platinum Pass issued there may not work at "most of the other parks" because of a difference in systems. Though Cedar Point said I could redeem my C.P.-purchased Platinum Pass at KBF, I elected to follow the advice of the KBF folks and went to Guest Services at KBF to get a comp ticket.

The Knott's people were very helpful, even working with their Traffic Management division to ensure I wouldn't have to pay for parking, either, despite not having a processed pass--perhaps because they didn't have the means to reimburse me at Guest Services (unlike Cedar Point, which will provide you a refund upon showing the parking ticket before pass processing at the CP Season Pass Center).

Is it seriously that hard to make a database accessible to 11 or whatever parks? I mean seriously?
