Planning for Rides Strategy

I haven't been to CP in years, so I dont really remember what rides are more popular than others. I found a strategy guide, (http://www.thepointol.com/1day.html) and I'm wondering if this is a good strategy or not. If not, Could you tell me a better one or give me a link. I'm going on Friday...if that helps.

It's been my experience that Fridays in July are the days to go anymore. - Last friday night there was about a 20 minute wait for MF and a 30 minute for TTD :-)

You don't need a strategy guide. Don't follow a book or an article that suits someone elses needs. Have fun and do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

I don't understand why there is such a need to lay out the order you plan on hitting rides. Just start at the back by Mean Streak and make your way around the park, riding what comes next.

Stop and pet the goats, see a show, relax and I guarantee you will have a much better day than if you try to follow an itinerary.

Okay well you definitly don't want to start from the back...
Hit Dragster early. Then get free-way stamp for Dragster and Millennium, and just hit all the other rides and you can ride all of them by 7:00-8:00 on most days.

Can you get two stamps?...Like one for each hand?

1.Yeah don't listen to the guide books. In fact, I don't even think there is a guide book on Cedar Point. 2. Yes you can get two stamps, one on each hand.

Is there still the rule where you can only get TTD or MF in the same day, not both? Just curious!

"And let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city--that isn't legal either. "

You can get TTD and MF in the same day. As far as I know, they only prohibit getting two stamps for the same ride, such as a Millennium stamp on both hands.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I've never heard of that TTD/MF one-per-day rule, I don't see why they'd do that. Well, I do, but it's kind of pointless. Also, they do allow two (one each hand), but no more (no going up arms and such, trust me I've tried :) ).

Also, starting in the back is THE best plan if you plan to hit them all (with the exception of grabbing a TTD run before you get back there). I've been back there in the morning, and it is truly a ghost town (to quote someone in another thread). Sucks if you like the social interaction, but great if you like the rides.

Also, just a few pointers I always give when these threads come up.
- If the Raptor/Wicked Twister/Power Tower/Mantis line is over a half hour, go away and come back. Especially Raptor, that can hit an hour and above, it's not worth it (come back late at night, but before the GP starts heading home)
- The maXair line isn't as long as it looks. Trust me, 50 people per cycle gets it flowing pretty good, the longest I've ever waited is maybe 40 mins (once)
- (Thanks Aunt Lisa for this one) If you see TTD or MF running strongly (no breakdowns or rollbacks) and the line isn't terribly long, take the opportunity, because it'll be gone soon.
- Someone usually brings this up (Josh in this case) but I have to re-state it. Remember to take a second and enjoy the atmosphere once in a while. I personally wouldn't recommend the petting zoo (=P), but some of the shows are great (haven't seen the Red Garter Saloon's yet this year, but that's usually awesome)

Whee for long posts with lots of parentheses. *** Edited 7/20/2005 9:51:52 PM UTC by GeeForce***

2008 - Games (Area 3/Scales)
2009 - Games Supervisor
2010 - Season pass holder.

A quick tip for Freeway stamps:

Freeway stamps are distributed at 11:00am for:
Millennium Force
Raptor
Mantis

Freeway stamps are distributed at 2:00pm for:
Top Thrill Dragster
Magnum
Wicked Twister

The Freeway program is an excellent way to save time in the park but be sure to arrive as close to the distribution time as possible because stamps for popular rides can run out quickly, especially on busy days.
