You'll need to follow that up with the DS9 episode where they go back in time to "Trouble with Tribbles".

Remember the Nick characters are on TV everyday. There is no Peanuts Network. Peanuts is only shown on TV for certain holidays, so Nick would have more recognition. My 10 year old has always loved the Peanuts charaters and still does. He has borrowed many Peanuts videos from the library, some many times. We have some of our own too. He loves Sponge Bob etc. too and often borrows those videos. Peanuts is a classic for all time, this is not to say that some of the Nick shows won't be considered the same way in the future. Throughout popular culture whatever is current is always "the in thing" for a while. Many of "the in things" of the past are gone and forgotten. Some though have stood the test of time and are classics.
I say keep Peanuts at CP and keep Nick at KI. When we go to KI we have a great time in their kids area. The rides have more appeal to a 10 year old that likes all the big thrill rides and still likes the kid rides. Planet Snoopy while well done and very nice doesn't have that appeal mostly because he's too big for many of the rides. Most of the rides he can go on are found elsewhere in the park but, he'll ride them sometimes. He misses the tree slide very much.

I wouldn't want to confuse her. "Daddy, why do the Klingons look so different?"
Me: "We do not speak of them."

But you answer that question with the Enterprise episode that finally explained it.

I think I need to hand off my screen moniker to you. ;)
Except you probably wouldn't settle for Ensign. How about Admiral Lotus?

"Name Chekov, Pavel. Rank......Admiral." :)
What I need is for DS9 to come out on Blu-ray. I'm not sure why, but that was my favorite series even though I grew up with TNG.

Have you seen any of the redone STTOS episodes with the new soundtracks and CGI exterior shots? I think they were (are?) airing on Spike or TNT or something like that. I caught a couple of them, and they look simply fabulous. I'm gonna have to knuckle down and get those.
Mr. Scott was gaga about that updating. Wish he could be here to enjoy them.

I have a feeling he's seen them. ;)
I have not seen them though, I'll have to keep an eye out. I know G4 was airing Star Trek 2.0 for a while. It was basically the show with on screen trivia, live fan feedback etc. I haven't seen it since Charter moved G4 to digital and replaced it with Telemundo or some crap.

BTW, if you've never seen it, I highly recommend Babylon 5. One of the best sci-fi shows, hands down. The only problem is, it's highly plot arced, so you gotta watch it from the beginning, in order.

Back to the OP, lol... :)
I absolutely agree. As we always visit the playground, I was bummed about the announcement, but we gave Planet Snoopy a shot anyway. And guess what! My kids didn't give a hoopdedoo about it! To be fair, we started at the back of the park and hit Camp Snoopy and all our favorites there first. When we hit Planet Snoopy later in the day, they had very little interest, and everything there was a complete walk-on. Seriously. Dead. Snoopy himself was hanging out there but was mostly just standing around because there were no kids. The kids had more fun running around under the old water stadium to burn off energy. Sure missed the playground. :(
I also agree with the previous poster that Kings Island is definitely more family friendly. I would love to see one of those...oh darn! don't know what to call them!...rides that bounce you up and down like Plankton's Plunge that the whole family can do together. Sesame Place has a few family friendly rides as well that we really enjoyed.
On the plus side for Cedar Point, we LOVED the ice skating and wheels shows! We normally only visit in October, but the wheels show alone made our summer trip worth it.
In the offseason I expressed my view on this website that Planet Snoopy will be a disappointment as most of the rides are exactly the same as others in the park (except for the Woodstock spinning ride). The response was overwhelming that "kids do not care, they just want to ride."...which I completely disagreed with. If a child rides the "balloon race" in Camp Snoopy, why would they care about the same exact ride in Planet Snoopy? Really seemed like a waste. I know they had rides from GL to put somewhere, but CP just did not seem like the logical choice. I would have put a coaster such as Sierra Sidewinder in that location instead, along with a couple "new concept" family rides such as a "tugboat" and too many to name that CP does not have. The area is beautiful, but sometime soon it's just going to be looked at as duplicate rides and nothing more.
I think that kids (and the so-called 'GP', for that matter) are a lot smarter and pick up on a lot more than some enthusiasts seem to think.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
On the flip side, I think enthusiasts sometimes overthink things. :)
My 5 year old and 2 year old were pretty good test cases and I didn't hear either of them say, "daddy...Planet Snoopy and Camp Snoopy are the same." (Interstingly enough, my son did complain when I wanted to ride Blue Streak because, in his words, "daddy...you've already ridden a roller coaster.)
Short of building rides that the ENTIRE family can ride together, I guess I can say that I do appreciate that Cedar Point has more than one area around the park for the little ones. I suppose it does help while we are doing the "child care swaps" that we can move the entire family around from one end of the park to the other while still finding thigns we can all do in fairly close proximity.
My kids liked the old sand/gravel play area too. But, there was no doubt the place was aging rapidly and I think Planet Snoopy was a nice addition. (There may have been some ADA accessibilty issues with the old playground too. I don't know that for fact but it is a pretty educated guess.)

Speaking of rides the entire family can ride together, does anyone know the height requirement for the Flying Super Saturator from Carowinds?
Rumor has it that it is going to another Cedar Fair park, I'm thinking it might make a nice family addition to Cedar Point if the height requirement is family friendly.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'd like to see a ride like that over Thunder Canyon or over one of the lazy rivers at Soak City. It would certainly create additional energy for either area.

I agree, Super Saturator would look great in Soak City, interacting with other attractions. I also think Soak City needs some new attractions in the worst way.
In regards to Soak City I think they are at a point where they have to ask what is more "valuable" to them: the existing remnants of Camper Village or expansion of the water park?
I don't know the answer.Since they have invested a lot of many into Sandcastle Suites it appears that hotel will be there a while. I thought there might be a chance that the hotel would be replaced by something bigger...maybe even delving into a second indoor water park/resort that could fit in nicely with Soak City.
See that become less likely now then I think it is a "fight", if you will, between water and overnight accommodations.
