I stumbled upon this recreation. It is incredibly accurate in terms of what is possible in the game. The only discrepancies seem to be due to the park size in game not being big enough.
I seen a lot of that guy’s reviews. One thing that’s consistent is he rarely sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. And not to say he doesn’t know gaming, but his lack of knowledge about the subject of the projects he features, or about amusement parks in general, is always apparent. He could’ve had better knowledge of “The Cedar Point” and it wouldn’t have taken much effort to do that research before he dove into a review.
And oh my goodness. Did he stick the word “the” in front of the name of every single ride? I wanted to poke my ears out.
All that aside, as far as the recreation itself goes, it really is amazingly accurate. In fact, bits of the park are actually prettier than the real one. And as usual, there aren’t simulations for a lot of the flat rides. For instance, seeing a thrilling flat where Cedar Downs is kind of funny. But I get it- you can’t successfully reproduce everything. Overall, the maker did a great job.
First I will say this is very cool and a very nice job. Second, I can’t help but wonder what else the time could have been spent on. Anyway very cool park.
First ride; Magnum 1994
incredible, awesome, something to help the withdrawal waiting for opening day.

Brings back memories of futility...spending hours in RCT2 trying to recreate the park. :)
Does it make me an old fart that RCT2 is probably still my favorite coaster-based sim game?
Yes.
Yes it does.
EDIT: One major flaw; his Wilderness Run (Jr. Gemini) allows the coaster to cycle twice without stopping the train to unnecessarily re-check all the seatbelts. Doesn't he care about safety?

So which is the bigger waste of time - building the recreation or watching it so closely that you notice that the kiddie coaster does not stop in between its 2 cycles???
Too cold to work outside, CP is closed for the season, how can watching it be a waste of time, not for me. it has many flaws, but so what. Watch it and enjoy it.

Honestly I thought the recreation was rather impressive.

Nothing wrong with that, RCT2 rocks! You're not alone!
For those of you who don’t know, RCT2 is available on the App Store for $6 under the name RCT Classic. Good fun, and good thing it didn’t exist when I was in middle school in the late 90s... I never would have passed a class with that kind of distraction.
