Place To Stay

What is the best place to stay if you are going to Cedar Point for more than 1 day?

I love Cedar Point

I've only stayed at Sandcastle Suites and it's a nice and decent hotel. If you are only going for one day then I say go for the least expensive hotel/room.

Favorite coaster: Millennium Force

This website is awesome for finding homes to rent for cheap. My friends and I just finished using a cabin by Dollywood that we got for $800 all week. It was very nice and huge. There are very nice homes to rent in Sandusky for cheap and they are better than hotels.

You need to clarify; on site or off site? Two entirely different discussions. And two entirely different bills. Family? Kids? Just you?

I personally recommend Sandcastle. My family stayed there last year and it was absolutely wonderful.

3 Kids? Cabin

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

The Cabins are all full through mid august.

x2 for camper village. It's the bomb, and I stay in my RV 60+ nights a year so it's a very well qualified opinion.

Rarely does a campground give you such supreme access to a tourist destination than this one.

Agree 100% Mavericklaunch. The view of the park from your campsite is amazing at night. Plus a pool, cable, bus service, clean washrooms. You've got me beat with the 60 nights. I'm on.ly up to about 15

We always stay at the Breakers Express. We have never had any issues. The rooms are always clean and comfy. I also like being able to be around all tthe different restaurants / convenience stores around in case we want cheaper food/ beverages than the park/other hotels.

To Stay at Camper Village first of all you need a camper. Lighthouse Point you can get a cabin or cottage. I don't suggest a cottage with 5 people unless someone plans on sleeping on the floor.

I take my three boys to camper village but then again we have a camper. They love it! It is nice to be able to come and go from the park. My oldest who is 13 enjoys going over to the park at night and staying late! We have a great time together!

^A cottage or cabin can easily hold 5 people without anyone sleeping on the floor. In a cottage you can have 2 in the bed in the bedroom, 2 more in the bunk beds, and 1-2 on the fouton in the living area. A cabin can hold even more; 2 in the bed room, 2 on each fouton, and at least 2 in the loft with an air mattress.

With kids, I would recommend on-site hotel. That way, if anyone needs a break, its a short walk to your room. There are all kinds of prices and what not when looking at rooms. I have stayed in Breakers, Breakers East, Tower, Bon Air, Sandcastle, and Lighthouse Point cottage. Just read each room description and see what they offer and find one that fits your needs. Majority of time, I go with Sandcastle. The rooms there are not much more than Bon Air, which is very outdated.

Two adults in a double bed is not comfortable for me. Been there done that and it was not comfortable . But to each their own.

Does everybody know that as a guest of one resort, you are able to use the pools and amenities of all the resorts?

I found this out last fall visiting camper village and our pool was closed, but we can use the ones at Breakers..

I have to say the best place on-site is the Hotel Breakers. I've stayed there at least once a year for the past 25 years. Not only is it of historic significance to the park, but you have some great views.

^^I've never even been checked at any resort pool. As long as you have your room key on you, you should be fine at any resort pool.
