Ok, guys I need help! I think I have pink eye (not sure) and my trip to CP is tommorow and I really want to go. I'm thinking I should just go anyways even if I have it. What do you guys think??
If you can get it looked at today and if it is pine eye, they will give you drops! I work as a school and if you are on the medicine for 24 hours, you are not contagious. Also make sure you are careful not to rub your eyes and touch things because that is how it spreads! Hope this helps!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
Go to an argent care clinic. They are open on weekends and at night for emergency.

Still waiting for that 500ft floorless wooden coaster.

I don't work as a school, but I do know pink eye, or conjunctivitis, is nothing to fool around with - it can go from bad to very serious in a flash if untreated. Not to mention the risk of infecting others. Do everyone at Cedar Point a favor, see your doctor then stay home.

I , unfortunately, have had pink eye a number of times. I recall one time, that I went to my eye doctor, got the prescription eye drops and went to CP within a few days.
Asking the doctor if I could still ride coasters was my first question I asked. He said yes with no problem!
However, I do have to agree with CP MAC. Stay home until you have been treating the eye. This spreads easily. Go to an Urgent Care Center as suggested.
Good Luck!
There's a reason behind when an employee mentions they have pink eye the reaction is "stay at Commons (or Cedars, etc.), we'll fill your gap" without much of a second thought. It can get out of hand pretty quickly and isn't a pleasant experience. Its a contagious problem, so out of courtesy and respect for the health and pleasure of the several other thousand guests I would advise holding off on this trip. I know, it sucks, and hope you can get it treated ASAP.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Yup, seems to be a pink eye spread these past couple of weeks. We had to send someone on my crew home last week because she had pink eye. Pink eye is something not to be messed if it goes untreated.

I don't think a single thing listed on that page would actually work for treating pink-eye. Sure, it may help clear up a symptom or two, but they aren't actually treating the bacterial infection that is causing it. And as such, the person would still be contagious.

You're probably already at Cedar Point. The best home remedy for pink eye is breast milk. If you're checking this board from an ipod or something, go to the first aid building and see if there are any nursing moms over there. If they look friendly enough, ask them for some in a cup LOL. I would've given some to a stranger as long as they weren't too creepy about it......Breast milk actually works better than the crap the doctor's give you!! Dare ya to ask.
Call me a cynic, but asking a stranger for her breast milk sounds like an immeasurably bad idea.

Oh yeah, that remedy would be great. And fortunately the First Aid station is conveniently located right next to the POLICE STATION! Jeez.

That still doesn't solve the problem. Just splashing some breast milk in your eyes doesn't get rid of the contagion, it just makes you look creepy. Any treatment will take a minimum of 24 hours, and any doctor would recommend you avoid social gatherings (school, parties, AMUSEMENT PARKS) for at least 24 hours after symptoms disappear to avoid spreading the illness to others. Considering the number of people you come in contact with in a given day at Cedar Point, you could become known as Typhoid Mary very quickly.

LOL I was teasing! Anyway, breastmilk really does cure it, if you know someone personally who would help you out with that. It kills the bacteria on contact and cures it with fewer applications than the eyedrops.
ETA: I would've given somebody with a pink crusty eye some of it though....not everyone would run to the police!!
Isn't it possible, like other bodily fluids, that exchanging them haphazardly with people you've never met (and will likely never see again) is one of the worst ideas imaginable?
Brandon
You can either have a bacterial or a viral infection. In any case there are some nasty bugs out there that could permanently damage your eyes. You need to to see a doctor yesterday, an ophthalmologist if possible. Don't mess around with home remedies, especially something bizarre like someone's breast milk.
