Pictures of new seats and more?

It seems as if the Dragster trains are going to be themed along with the new seats. Caution: page may download slowly, files are a little big.

Those are bumpers, in case the trains would run into eachother. Who knows, they could put it back on, however personally I wouldnt put my money on it.

It looks like the theming was connected to the bumper in this photo.

Tambo you are correct, the theming was connected to the bumper. I was just at the park from June 29-July1st and saw the black piece on the back where the dragster wheels/fin were.

Ugh I wish I got to ride lol.

:Edit: I personally do not feel the theming will return and hope it doesn't because of the problems it has somewhat caused.

that's when the theming took up the back row of the last train too. so they are just bumpers. the engine and wheels etc. take up a lot of space.
Interesting, maybe they could at least put the wing on? Like I had said before that the engine and wing was behind that big wall (the wall to your right as you enter the queue.)
But last time I was there just the engine was sitting back there. So maybe they are adding a wing, I think just adding something would make it look much better.

I think even just putting the wing back on would really make it look complete. The front of the train still has it's wings, so having the ride half themed makes it look a little bit silly. And it looks like they made it possiable for them to do just that.

Yes, I too was wondering if they would at least put the spoiler fins back on. That would be cool.

Thanks for the pics.

I agree, liebevision. They should be able to put the wing and the wheels on securely. That would be enough for me. Besides, they have invested too much in the Dragster theme to abandon it on the trains.

I don't know about the wheels coming back, I think that is a long shot by far. Even though it looks cool, I don't think they lawyers would be too happy seeing as how the one flew off after they had it "fixed." But I do see the spoiler coming back eventually.

They recently added the black addon to the yellow train, Meaning they are planning to use it fomr something. I mean without theming on it that black addon on the back looks seriously stupid. The spoiler was my favorite part of theming because it was most visible. Engine did look awesome though. But any part of theming coming back would be awesome.

Obviously the mounting design was flawed considering the accelleration and decelleration stresses involved. Sometimes these things have to be done by trial and error. Well, they've tried one method and erred. They can see exactly where the design failed and now can get it fixed right. When they are finished, the theming that is put back on the trains will most likely be attached in a much different (and a much more secure) manner.
Does anyone have any links to stories about the wheel falling off? I can't believe this is the first I've heard of this!

Here is a pic of the train with one tire after this occured. But seriously dude, Where have you been?

I know... I've only really started following the whole thing in the past week or so. I was up there the day after the cable broke, and still haven't had the chance to ride it! But we did get 2 trips on MF, and after it started raining, the lines got really short. We walked right on to Wicked Twister twice in a row. Also, if you ever get a chance to ride Mantis in the front seat in the rain, do it!

Personally, I think the themeing is great, but I agree with liebevision that the wheels probably won't return.

Walt, your site rocks!

I seriously dout that the engines coming back because there is no room for it (the engine was were the seats are). I think the fin is coming back but don't know about the tires. I never saw the tires on the train and never looked at the engine but liked the fin a lot so I just want the fin to come back.

Furbar, you are crazy! Me and my friend steve rode mantis in the front seat in the rain. Lets just say NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! It hurt like crazy, I rode millie in the rain but not front seat, and that stung as well. I don't want to even think of being on TTD's front seat in the rain!!!

I know. What made it great is that you were forced to keep your eyes shut. The ride becomes an entirely new experience when you can't see what is going on.
Here's a closer look to the themeing. Click Here

It does look like the engine was the only theming in the place where the seats are. The spoiler and the tires very easily go on the the trains still. Maybe that's why someone said in another topic that the engines were only themeing behind the wall. They took the spoilers back to Intamin to get them modified to be put back on.

I don't think Intamin had anything to do with that theming. I'm pretty sure that was the work of the people in CP's Amazement Shop, though I could be wrong.
