Picture Request - Berenstain Bear Country

So I was talking to another member about Berenstain Bear Country and the "blow up" tree top. For some reason I remember there being two of these massive tree things. But, maybe there was really only one. Anyways, I wanted to show him what the trees used to look like and I couldn't find one picture anywhere.

Does anyone have a pic of what the tree used to look like? Am I insane in remembering the top of the tree on the corner having a blow up top that was all the leaves for the tree?

This is the only picture I can think of:

Were the Berenstein Bears the old theme of CP? Then Snoopy took it's place?

I remember the Berenstain Bears, that was the first time I went to Cedar Point. I was 5. I remember that tree, but I'm really not sure what it looks like anymore.

I only recall the one tree, Tim. Though it has been a while.

The Berenstain Bears were at the park from 1983 to 1998. There are different images in almost every brochure during that time period.

Amazing how much the park has changed.

Jason - According to your maps (which are great by the way), Berenstain Bear Country (where the tree is) didn't actually exist until 1992. If you look in the 1993 brochure, there's a photo of one of the blow up trees. The rendering from 1992 makes it look like there were multiple trees. I'll have to keep looking. :)

Edit: I realize you meant the Bears themselves were in the park. I was just stating the Bear Country was new in 1992. :) *** Edited 8/30/2007 3:57:00 PM UTC by halltd***

The Berenstein Bear playground could make way for a new ride. hmm.

Yep, because removing the kiddie areas will REALLY help with the family image of the park.

Screw the kids. Put in more thrill rides. :)

Does anybody remember the indoor one being rather dark? That and the phones where you could 'talk' to the bears are what I remember the most about it.

Personally, I liked the giant slide they had in the space that the outdoor Bearenstien Bears/Snoopy playground is. I'm sure it would have a more appropriate name nowadays, such as 'The World's Largest Lawsuit Magnet'.

Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."

The slide wasn't as awesome as the miniature golf.

And with all the new rides they've added, they could easily put in another one with all the holes themed after rides.

They should put in a course like the new ones at Disney - Winter Summerland. That course is the most creative and fun I've ever played. I like your idea John. Each hole could be a different ride. So yeah, pull out the playground and put back the slide and a new put-put course. :)

Winter Summerland is freaking sweet. We played the Winter side a couple years ago, it was one of the most interactive and enjoyable miniature courses I've ever played. It was a bit hot because there isn't much shade, but it was still fun.

You should go now. It's in a veritable forest of trees. Almost the entire course is shaded.

Next year is the earliest we will make it. That will definitely be on the list of stuff to do. Might do the summer course next time though.

The treehouse that was part of Berenstain Bear Country is now just a stump and is part of PEANUTS Playground.

I didn't realize you had to pay for Berenstain Bear Country. I just read the brochure with the tree photo on it. $4.95 to play all day. Geesh.

I saw that too, but then I thought that that may have been the price of admission for a child to the park. Basically meaning that if you buy admission for your child for that price, you also get access all day to Berenstain Bear Country.

Edited for clarity.
