Picture of Steel on footers....

Somehow I would just be bored with an aquatrax (from what I have seem of them). The only one in existance is themed, and cp isnt to swift in this area, so an un themed aquatrax? In frontier town? I just dont see that as fun.

I have never ridden one so I really cant say ;). But they never seemed exiting, I dont think I would wait more than 20min for one personally.

I was there Monday and they were pulling out mabey between 50 - 75 feet tall (or more).

Here is a video of it. http://www.funcoast.com/popup?id=11862&video_src=http://www.funcoast.com/media/2006/07/18/CP%20Construc512K_Stream.mov&video_capt=Construction%20on%20the%20Cedar%20Point%20Project%202007%20mystery%20ride%20continues%20with%20new%20steel%20support%20columns%20being%20installed%20Tuesday,%20July%2018.%20(%3Csmall%3EFuncoast%20Video#

Let us not forget, footers can be attached to one another. So just b/c you see a 30 foot footer does not mean that it is the limit....they can be put together, and often are.

Promoter of fog.

Basically all of the supports put up at this point, seem to form atleast 4, maybe 5, helixes.

those supports near the middle of the site are INTENSE!! wow!! talk about beefy!!

Hopefully our construction crew has a better time 'eyeing things up' than this coasters supports lol. I know its designed to be that way for you **** that cant tell an orange from an apple, or a joke from a serious thought.

Kevinj, you're right. But I don't think I have ever heard of a 30 foot footer. Maybe a 30 foot support.... ;)

halltd, they may have mulliple pices being bolted to them. That's probaly why they're so beefy.

Okay, I know that they have a system, and they're probably all numbered.. but don't you think that figuring out which support goes on which footer would be confusing? Not only that, but they have to position it correctly. Having that many holes in the base of the support.. it just seems like it would be so confusing and overwhelming.

That's why they're paid the big bucks (to put it together....properly).

They spent the entire morning yesterday just verifying where supports were supposed to be, then in the afternoon they put those they had verified up.

A coaster with seats sticking out from either side would require heavy supports like that one.

Yes, it would.

I hate the Aquatrax idea. It looks like a mutant Wildcat. I like the Wildcat...but it wouldn't fit as a mega coaster. I think it's going to be a bigger type of Goliath. The resemblances between Goliath & P2007 are uncanny.

My bet: I'm going with a better Goliath. That's my guess before the actual announcement.

Bigger than Goliath? That would essentially be a Magnum, or a smaller MF. How much fun would that be?

Give me variety, even if it is an aquatrax.

Well, since thats a Gerstlauer and the track at CP is Intamin, I'm going to guess no. ;)

Actually John, Intamin does have something like it. It may not look like a Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster, but it is something like it.http://www.rcdb.com/ig1495.htm?picture=4

The cars almost look like something off a tilt-a-whirl.:)

If it had individual cars (like a wild mouse) that wouldn't be too bad. The train idea looks horrendous.

And Drunk Monkey.....learn to take a joke.
