Picture of a 1977 map for your enjoyment

I just wanted to share this map of 1977 Cedar Point...

Very interesting to see how the park was before I was even born!!

...or the year that I was born.

I didn't realize Wildcat was in a third location prior to being moved from the Disaster Transport spot.

It wasn't that is the original Wildcat located in the current location of the stadium. It was there from 1970 to 1978. In 1979, the new Wildcat opened on the site of Jumbo Jet. In 1985 Wildcat was moved to it's current location to accommodate the installation of Avalanche Run. You may be thinking of a different coaster. Perhaps Scamper that was located where Corkscrew is now.

WOW! Both them maps are cool! I did not ever know they had 2 sky rides??? They should do that again withOUT taking anything out.. Wouldn't it be cool to be taken fro the cork screw to Mavericks area of the park? I think it would be nice to not have to walk every time we want to go to frontier town ,, just an idea ..

Well they have the train, I think that may be one of the reasons they took it out. I wouldn't mind seeing a sky ride from like the frontier trail to the magnum/Gemini area.

The frontier lift went from where the Iron Dragon station is to above the bathrooms just next to Mine Ride. I believe you can still see where the lift chairs went in and out on the frontier end.

Oh yea...right by SkyHawk; now bathrooms, and probably just storage above I would assume.
