Picnic Areas?

Hi all! After a search on this board, it appears that the former picnic area at the front of the park still exists (please let me know if this is incorrect).

In addition, I'm wondering if there are any other picnic areas in or outside of the park that my son and I could enjoy for some down time during the summer. He's 6 and we plan on enjoying several days at the park as my husband bought us passes for Mother's Day. I figured we could get some subway and eat it on the boardwalk area or beach, but any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

Beaches and Cream is a nice place for some good ice cream too. The boardwalk provides a cool view. Also, a nice walk along the path between Breakers and Sandcastle is nice too.

Or if you want to save money take a cooler and bring stuff for sandwiches and eat at your car in the parking lot. I've done that on the Soak City lot when the plan was marathoning Magnum for most of the day.

The picnic area was moved to the other side of the gate, it is now next to Blue Streak. It's very nice, even has some umbrella tables. Nicer than the old area IMHO.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
