Hey everybody,
My physics class is already planning to go to the point next may and I have a request. We are making a t-shirt to wear that day, and we're having a design contest. Does anyone have an ideas, because im not the creative type. And I have another question, can you put logos on shirts, or is it against copy right laws?
Thanks in advance!
You would most definitely run into problems if you used a registered Trademark (TM) or Copyrighted (c) image on a t-shirt.
As for ideas, there are plenty of things you could do with your school logo and "Physics Day 2009".

"Technically," if you're not profiting from these shirts, then it's okay to put copyrighted material, isn't it?
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
First, contact Cedar Point, I bet you can get an exception to use the Cedar Point Logo on a T-shirt provided you:
-Add your event day on the same side
-Dont Profit Off of the shirts
-Dont put anything obsene on them
I assume they will because I see a whole lot of groups walking around with them in May, but if they wont you can always just use your own font and put something together.
Isn't that cheating having other people come up with designs for you? :)
I have used this website before. Its very cool and they fix any problems you might have with the shirt for free. You can put anything on it; even a image from your pics. Its pretty easy to use.
Let's Get Weird.
On that Copyright Law thing...
I have always wondered, during normal operating hours at any park, including cedar point, are the photos I take MY property, meaning..
If I take photos of Top Thrill Dragster's Sign, and use that on a shirt, to sell, is that against copyright laws?
Do I have the right to do whatever I want with the photos I take.
For Example, does Walt and Jeff get permission to reuse them on a site like this?
I always wondered..
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Absolutely not. Trademarks can't be used without the mark owner's permission regardless.
We don't use logos on this site unless it's in a way that references bona fide news, which is about the only way we can without asking. That's also why you don't see "Cedar Point" in the site or domain name. Trust me, the park is pretty careful about defending its trademarks. Ask the hotels in the area that try to tack "Cedar Point" into their name.
