I believe this related topic is now in the archives. Someone asked what kind of fish was brought in to petcheck that had been caught in Lake Huron. I didn't know at the time, but now I believe I do. In vertebrate zoology we learned how to key a fish, and I'm dying to use some of this fish knowledge.
This fish was from the Lepisosteidae family - Gar family. I would guess it was a Northern Longnose Gar.
