Someone asked about snoopy autographs in another thread which made me think of the penny stamping machines. Do they have those at CP? My daughter collects them so thought I'd ask.
Yes they do the have about 4 or 5 they also have a book to keep them in for about $4 at some of the gift shops.
"Failure to follow posted safety rules and audio announcements may result in serious accident or injury"
One of the penny stamping machines I never noticed until this year is hiding in the entrance to the snoopy botique. I never noticed it because I had never been in there before.
There is also one on the wooden walkway along the buildings in Frontier Town.
I know there are more, but I can't think of where they are.

There are a few around the park. I'm not sure on the locations. In my memory, I can see one in Frontier Town and the Main Midway.

Do they have updated pressed penny molds?
Yesterday the only one I saw (by Attitudes) had Magnum, Mantis, and a general CP one...
I was just curious if they had ones with MF, Dragster, or any of the newer rides?

I'm a sucker for those. I bought the "Cedar Point penny passport" two weeks ago. There is one in Frontier Town at the Cedar Creek Trading Company. On the Main Midway, I believe Pagoda has one, Snoopy Boutique (Snoopy pennies), Park Plaza, and outside of Attitudes. I also believe there is one in Speed Freaks. There may be more around.
To date, I have 17 pennies:
What's life if you never get to the Point, Cedar Point: Get to the Point, Cedar Point: Coaster Wings, Cedar Point (with fancy line under), Cedar Point: America's Roller Coast, CP Cedar Point (frontier logo), Cedar Point (with Dragster flames), Cedar Point (with carousel horse), Cedar Point: America's Roller Coast (with sailboat and coaster), Cedar Point: America's Roller Coast (diamond, old logo), Millennium Force: the Future is Riding on it, Millennium Force: Cedar Point, Raptor logo, Mantis logo, Snake River Falls logo, Dragster with racing flags, Mean Streak logo, Magnum logo, Iron Dragon logo. I'm a bit of a freak.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The number of them has decreased since 2003, and I don't believe they have any new ones since then (ie: maXair, Skyhawk).

thanks for the responses! At least I know where to find them.I know universal has probably 50 designs and they are great to remember a visit to a park. Daughter will be thrilled! I'll get one of the collector books since there are less designs at CP.Also leaves more funds for a t-shirt ot hoody(her next favorite thing)
Those penny machines are scattered all over the park. The last "updated" penny I have is the set of TTD ones. As of right now I have a total of 30 of them (no duplicates) and not counting the one that comes in the front of the holder that is unique to it. I also have a penny from SFWOA, PKI, and a super cool smashed quarter from the 30th anniversary of PKI. As far as I'm aware, there haven't been any press made for WT, Maxair, or Skyhawk but then again I haven't been to the park this year and haven't snooped around enough.
HINT: You can go to guest relations and they will give you a list of where all the machines are located. The list they gave me was pretty good but there were still others not on the list that I had found.

I saw another one today outside of the Joe Cool store near Camp Snoopy.

^^Ihave one of those quarters too!
Do you like stupid videos? Do like awseomeness? Then go to www.idiots.co.nr!
I'll check all the locations mentioned so far. Had never thought of asking guest relations. Good suggestion though..
those penny machines are great. If you really want a collection of them, get some 1943 pennies from a dealer. The value of the 1943 penny goes away but you have something much different than anyone else. They are only about 5 dollars for 3 of them in great condition at a coin shop.

Oh boy, when I was a little kid, I collected these like crazy! My mom always made sure to have both quarters and pennies on her whenever we left for a vacation. It took me a while to find all of my "Penny Passports" or whatever, but here is what I found. I have 125 "smashed pennies" (as we called them) to go along with 8 "smashed quarters." But, only a fraction are CP related. Most are actually Disney...Oh, and Sea World of Ohio! Hahaha, I love being nostalgic.
Last public train of 2005 on MF!
Me and my daughter have been collecting the pennies for about 4 years now. It's kind've our little thing we do together at the parks, (other than ride together). She has four different books, (CP, SF, Univ., and one she kind've just keeps for general like independent parks/aquariums/zoos.
There's also one one, if memory serves me correctly, inside the Snoopy store across from Gemini.
And oh, the PKI smashed quarter, that a fave for us too. We also got one from Newport Aquarium.
I probably have a ton of those things from when I was little, but I was never 1/10 as organized as Emilee is!
Hey guys, I know the thread is a bit old, but I didn't think it was necessary to start a new thread. Anyway, I decided to start collecting the pennies recently. I'll be going around the park Saturday trying to find them all. On the tip of a friend, I found the pressed collector website which is a great site for people who are into collecting elongated coins. They show a lot more machines at Cedar Point than I would ever have imagined. I'm not sure how current this info is, but using what they have, I'll try to confirm or update the list.

Ok, I was able to get all of the pennys at the park Friday. There are currently 10 machines for a total of 30 pennys. I am currently without the use of a scanner. So, this picture will have to do for now.
The 10 machines are in 7 locations. 2 at Park Plaza, 1 at Attitudes, 1 at Coliseum Arcade, 2 at Snoopy Boutique, 1 at Pagoda, 2 at Speed Zone, and 1 at $10 and Under General Store.
There are 16 pennys shown on pennycolector.com that are not currently at the park.
