Well, I'm sure y'all have seen the news that METLife dumped the Peanuts Gang. Which leads me to the question. How much longer do you think the Peanuts gang will be around CP? Are licensing rights just getting too expensive? Are the Peanuts Gang just not good icons to use anymore?? Ideas? Also ideas on who to replace them with if CF ever got rid of them.
Thanks.

It must be that time of year again...
Though this should be a shorter conversation, considering The Peanuts Movie was not only a critical hit, but also earned ~$250 million against a ~$100 million budget.
Anecdotally, my 4 year old daughter loves the gang, and has a growing collection of plush and other accessories. And I don't think METLife's decision will have any impact on her reverence.

^LOL...That time of year again? I honestly thought it was a valid question given the fact they were just dumped.

Oddly, this does get brought up around this time of year.
I doubt the peanuts are leaving CF, and I actually think CF does a great job of not overdoing the naming/cross promoting in their parks.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
It's not personal, it's just that this will be like the 372nd time the issue has been beaten to dea-, err, I mean discussed. Though admittedly I'm lumping together such discussions here and at CB.

A quick Google search says MetLife as spinning off their US life insurance into a separate company. MetLife will primarily focus on corporate clients in the US. The will also update their logo to a clean modern aesthetic.
The Peanuts gang is loved the world over. There are 700 licenses in numerous countries. Hardly time to drop them from Cedar Point.
Thatbo - Sorry to tell you MetLife will no longer use their blimps after this year. :(
Yes, the loss of blimps is terrible news to me. :(
But on the upside, Goodyear's blimps aren't going anywhere, which are the only blimps that really matter to me. And I'm going to the christening ceremony of their newest blimp this afternoon! :D

I sure will. I just hope it stops raining soon, or they may not be able to fly it today.

You see dumped. I see a company choosing to go in a different direction that chose not to continue with a licensing deal.

If I named a sporting event, would you be able to tell me what blimp covered that event from above?
The Peanuts Gang is timeless, just like threads suggesting it may be time for them to go.

If it was a Goodyear blimp, I may be able to. And if I got anyone curious, here is my album from the christening ceremony.

Blimp: DirecTV
It was scheduled to arrive here Friday, coming from Texas. It only made it to Bowling Green KY due to this weather. Now possibly Sunday. It will be here for the whole series, but Tribe fans know that means only 2 home games due to Indians sweeping cursed Cubs or weak Dodgers.
Nice photos Thabto, I have never been there. TV3 news said it was christened by our own local "royalty". I didn't know being a basketball players wife made a person royalty.
