Passholder ride night questions

I REALLY dislike that every single ride night this year is for SV with no variety, except for the ones on memorial day / labor day weekends. Used to be able to have great fun on Magnum, gatekeeper, MF, dragster, etc... now its just all SV with its 2 hour wait and 1 ride, pretty stupid and I see no reason to go. give me back my mixed variety of ride nights on thursdays :(

Left at 7:00 P.M. yesterday and skipped the ERT. When I saw the cars pulling into the parking lot when I was leaving, I knew it was going to be a mess back there at Steel Vengeance. {I wanted no part of that nonsense}

Best thing to do with this ride, is the early bird gets the worm. Get there for early entry at 9:00 A.M, you will be able to get on rather quickly, then stand in line 1 time during the day for a second ride.

Something is going on with Steel Vengeance, the ride is not dispatched until the previous train pulls into the brake run. Hence more like a 1-1/2 train operation, that is why the line is moving so horribly. Hopefully they get this figured out before the 4th of July, or there will be the 4-5 hour wait scenario happening again.

Did you see the guy at 10pm in front of the line queue screaming at CP employees?

Oh yes I did. I was one of the last people able to sit on the bench around the SV sign before it got to them. I couldn't hear much except hear the poor supervisor putting up with them say you guys are still pretty close to the front. I would guess what happened was they were sitting initially in a position by the SV sign where they had to move to get the line more managed and they were sitting there longer than others (like me maybe). They still made 2nd or 3rd train I know that so they made a big deal out of nothing.

Sacrificing playing video games to ride roller coasters.

You need to have a response proportional to the situation regardless the issue. Someone screaming at the employees doesn't deserve to ride at all.

Dispatching a train early during two train ops doesn’t help capacity because the station just sits empty anyways since both trains are running the course.

SV ruins all other rides.

Not true.

In the current scenario, Train #1 stopped in the station, ready to dispatch. This means Train #2 arrives to, stops at, then sits on the brake run until Train #1 is released and clears the station block. Only then is Train #2 released to the station. So Train #2 is sitting idle for a bit - maybe only 10 seconds, but still, that adds up to significant lost capacity over the course of a ~12 hour day.

Yea, the fact that they have to hold a train for about 20-30 seconds waiting for the previous one to come back indicates there are seconds to be gained from sending it earlier. The earlier they send it, the earlier it gets back and can be loaded a second time. Ideally, they should have a consistent dispatch point. On some rides, the dispatch point is a visible spot of the previous train on the ride. On others, it might be a timer.

85 seconds of parked time in the station is a LONG time - longer than the dispatch to dispatch interval for most CP rides. I'm not sure why that is the number they're using. It seems like they could easily take it down by 10 seconds even with the current state of the ride. Many rides like Magnum, Raptor, Gatekeeper, etc are probably like 50 seconds of parked time and the overall interval is 80ish seconds. That should be what we see here with three trains eventually.

I am not sure why they're waiting until the previous one is all the way back before sending the next one. I do notice it takes FOREVER for the train to make it from the stop at the brakes into the station and get parked so I think that has a lot to do with it, but I still think they could dispatch sooner. With three trains, this slowness of the movement behind the station shouldn't make as much of a difference as it is now.

The dispatch is being done purposely, Cedar Point is trying to iron out and fix some deficiency with the ride with the help of RMC.

Hopefully this is resolved before the 4th of July.

The schedule times for Steel Vengeance to not be open for early rides has July 4th right in the middle. So it does not look like they anticipate being done by then. It is not open for early entry Tues-Thurs 3 weeks in a row and July 4th is the 2nd Wed.
