Parking Raised Again?

I was looking at the website today and noticed that Halloweekends parking is listed at $15. Last I checked, it was $12. Regular parking is also listed at $15, so I'm not sure if parking is now $15 all the time or if it is a mistake, and they just raised for Halloweekends. Anyone have an idea?

Of all the cheap, lousy ways to make a buck. That's pretty low. If I had a rubber hose I would beat...

It's most likely not a mistake, because the park has raised parking prices and even gate prices just before Halloweekends in the past.

Wow. $15 for something that does not have any perceived value. Of course, that does add value to the Platinum Pass that includes parking. Kings Island seems to be holding at $12 or did they go up too? I have a pass so I haven't paid for parking in years.

What's the cost of parking off-site and walking up to the park entrance? Free?

Yeah Im thinking about just swimming there..

I'll probably just beam down, same as usual.

I thought that Six Flags charges $20? When I was there last month we did not get the parking pass from the Hotel, got to the parking gate and was told that if you leave the parking lot and want to come back you would have to pay again. So even if you had your receipt, still have to pay again.

In past years we had always gotten the resorts parking pass, we'll make sure to get one our next visit. Just to add note to park your pet for the day at Pet Check it is $15 dollars.

Parking was $15 yesterday and Halloweekends hasn't even started yet. Looks like a permanent change.

This is a fall, annual rite of passage. I've never heard a good explanation for doing it other than, "because we can". My guess is that they look at the per cap spending figures coming out of the third quarter and decide they need to be able to boost the quarterly reporting and, therefore, jack up the price.

Of course, they have had a good year by all accounts which takes me back to the "because we can" answer.

2 reasons I can think of.

1 - Supply & Demand: The park has been very busy this time of year.

2 - Marketing: Next year, they can say they didn't raise prices at the begining of the year.

They seemed to be ready to park people in Soak City and on the peninsula on Saturday. They had cones everywhere around Perimeter Rd. and signs saying "do not pass." There was also a port-a-loo and portable lights outside the tolls. Foreshadowing for Halloweekends.

I thought all of that was to do with the triathalon.

The booths have the new prices on them. It's $15 for cars, $20 for RV's and Perferred is now $25. Insane! Just think of those increases in percentage and you'll puke.

The cones, porta-johns, et al were related to the Rev3 triathalon.

Those guys started swimming at 7AM (in the windy cold weather) and were finishing their marathons coming up the causeway as I was leaving, at 8:30PM.

I've run marathons, but that Ironman is craaaazy.

Unfortunately they know they have us. There really is no other parking option other than their lot.

I have had a Season Pass since 1984. I also had to buy a Parking Pass til the P. Pass came out. The visitors far from CP would use $15 Parking, Tickets, Food/Drinks, Games, Merchandise, some Attractions; that would be close to $200 during the day there. I remember the Parking was $8.00. It should be only $10 and $15 for RV's and BUSES. I will be car pooling with my family next month. With 2 full cars; my mom will be in one and I will be in the other car for FREE PARKING with 20 family members.
I could park in the parking lot at the Thirsty Pony and walk to CP from there.

I know there isn't a sidewalk on the causeway, but what about on the opposite side? Surely there must be a way to walk to the park. It's good health sense.
