parking question
After hearing the announcement of Dragster, i have heard a few people localy talking about having a little tailgate party up in the soak city parking lot on saturday may 3rd and get up early to wait in line. do you think CP would let them stay in the parking lot all night?

The parking lot has an opening and closing time. I think the closing time is actually printed on the receipt they give you at the toll booth.

Hmmm... As a public relations major, the little tailgate party could be a great human interest story for the park, and they could probably get some extra free publicity. Problem is, according to Ohio's Alcohol laws, you aren't allowed to have alcohol in the parking lot. If your friends are truly interested in this, I would have them contact Cedar Point's Marketing department.

ok thanks. i dont think they were going to involve alcohol with it i think they just wanted to sit in the parking lot and mess around all night until a few hours before the park opened. we could turn it into a big GTTP parking lot party! that may be a cool thing to do. Anyone else like the idea?

If I remember correctly, the parking lot is open for only an hour (perhaps two) after the park is closed. I sincerely doubt you will be allowed on the property before opening morning.

2003 - Ride Operations
Disney had a sleepover in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure (which, according to the state of CA, give you cancer) for when Disney's California Adventure opened. I heard it was horrible, and the cast members didn't want you to go to sleep. And then I think it might have rained, but I'm not sure. Anyways, it ended up uncrowded on opening day, and has been like that ever since. Its a great change from the pace of Disneyland, and that makes it so much better.
I doubt CP would do this though.
As per current parking status, you can't just hang out there all night, unless of course you were staying at breakers, or what about getting a space at camper villiage. Anyway, I still don't think it could hurt to ask. The worst thing they could do is say no!
