Parking question

I'm heading to Cedar Point this week and am supposed to meet a friend at 5pm for dinner off point. I have a Platinum Pass and parking is free, but can you park, leave and come back. I had an experience a few years ago where they wouldn't let me back into the park (didn't get a hand stamp) with my pass twice in one day. Thanks!

You should be able to scan your pass again with no problem. I do it all the time.

In the past, you've been able to simply rescan your pass to re-enter the lot. I've heard rumors that doesn't work this year but haven't tested it myself. However, they do give you a paper slip, receipt basically, that you should hold onto in your car just in case. :)

I was there 2 Sundays ago and left to park to eat. Then came back through with no problem. They do give you slips but I've not been asked to present them for proof of previous entry.

In that case, I definitely don't understand the slips... It's quite a waste of paper.

We have Platinum Passes and were told Friday we had to have the receipt (slip)to re-enter the parking lot and could only use it once. We were told this when we entered the first time.

Hmmm, interesting. You'd think the "free" part of the pass means free, and not "free but only 2 times a day".

I don't understand why they would rather have you present a slip of paper to re-enter and only allow you to do it once when they can scan the card and collect the data about who is leaving and coming back. I guess if they think they are losing out on people shuttling others in or something, but I can't imagine that's all that common.

I haven't tested this yet this year. Not like it really matters as I have three platinum passes in the car.

I was at the park this past Thursday and Friday. Thursday, I flashed my Platinum Pass and was waved through with no scan. Friday, they scanned my pass and gave me a receipt, saying that I needed to show the receipt for re-entry. That's the way it's done at Kings Island.

Kings Island used the parking receipts last season, but pass entry is paperless this season.

Cedar Point made the opposite change.

KI handed out the slips on Friday and Saturday of opening weekend..

I don't get it either... seems like a total waste of paper to me as well. What problem are they trying to solve? They do this at SeaWorld too, only it's a massive receipt that's about 10 inches long. Doesn't make sense there either.

Yeah, it's seems a little inconsistent to me. Sometimes they scan my pass, sometimes I present my pass TO be scanned, and they say, "Oh. You're good, go ahead "...so I don't get it....
