Parking Pass Question

Hi All -
I was considering purchasing a parking pass this year, and had a question. Do they knock $8 off the cost of the parking pass for the first parking fee that you have to pay for to puchase the pass?

Thanks!

Eric

When we redeemed our season pass certificates last year, we had to pay the parking fee to get in
(we processed our season passes in June last year). Although we didn't ASK about being refunded for the parking fee for that day.

This year, because we redeemed our passes by mail, I got my season pass with the P for parking before our first trip down.

I have made mention to the attendant that I was going to buy my pass, and I really was. They let me through with no problem. I even offered to bring it back to show them, but they said no problem.

It may work for you, but if it is abused like everything else then they wont let anyone through.

If I go in to get my season pass, and tell the attendant that I'm going to get it, and then leave, will they charge me and refund it when I leave? Or will I be out 8 bucks?

When I went on Saturday, I showed the guy my pass with the "P" on it. He told me to get the sticker on my car ASAP. I guess this is another Joe Cool bennifit they haven't told employees about.

Wow that's really stupid. I didn't have any problems with my Joe Cool Parking Pass.

Same here. I just showed my SP with the big red P on it, and they waved me through. No sticker is required if you have a season pass with the P on it.

I purchased a parking pass and haven't been to the park just yet, but I did e-mail CP about the procedure.

As per John McClure, Manager of Traffic Operations, here's the drill:

"As you enter our parking lot, please tell the cashier that you are going to get your parking pass put on your "Joe Cool Club" ID card. The cashier should charge you for the daily parking fee and give you a parking ticket, and explain how to get a refund. Essentially, we well refund the ticket for you on the same day if you bring the ticket and your ID parking pass back to the main tollbooth on your way out. For safety considerations, we ask that you do this no later than an hour or two before the park closes for the day, because of heavy traffic near/around the tollbooth."

I got my parking and the procedure worked exactly as described in sandy's post. The parking attendant, charged me $8, but when I bought the parking pass, they refunded the $8. I don't have a Joe Cool membership, so I didn't have to worry about getting my season pass processed before getting the parking pass.
