Parking Lot

I hope there is not a topic out here that answers this question. If there is my apologizes in advance.

For opening day/any day of operation: What time do the main parking lots open? Have happens if you get to the parking gate before the parking lot is open, what do you do?

This will be my first opening weekend trip! Excited, but hesitant on the main parking situation.

I'm not sure if they keep a booth manned all night, but the parking lot is open at all times. Guests staying at the resorts are free to come and go as they please, so they can't really close the Causeway/Chausee overnight.

That said, I'd recommend against trying to enter the parking lot from about half hour before gates close till about 1.5 hours after.

The toll booth on the Causeway is open and manned 24/7 for hotel guests, marina boaters and employees to come and go. I believe the main parking lot closes, or at least they want all the cars out of the lot, at a certain time after the park closes. I think the reason is so they can clean it.

Before we had kids, my wife and I used to get to the park around 7:30 - 8, and we would literally be one of the first 25 - 50 guests there...we did this mainly because we lived to far away to get out season passes processed early (Columbus at the time).

You should be in great shape if you get there early. :)

I just made it to Cedar Point! Just wanted everyone to know I found out that the parking lot opens at 7am!:) Thank you all for the responses!
