Parking?

I know this has been in an older forum, but I can't seem to find it... But, is the Soak City parking lot better for crowds? Or, if anyone could direct me to the old forum, that'd be good, too...
Before someone feeds you the line about "nobody can predict the movement of crowds" I will tell you that usually you can get a better spot in Soak City lot and also it puts you away from the mass of people coming in with the morning masses.

Hey Dan so you are really going thats cool I hope you have alot of fun. Also I think Adernaline is right about the parking
Ha ha, here's the old post.

The best place to park really depends on what you want to do and what your preferences are. It has nothing to do with "crowds."

We park in the front as often as we park in the back.

Our whole soccer team is going next week, but we're all going in an RV. Would we just say, "We're going to Soak City", and park there? I heard something about going to the left when you get to the toll booths...

I could just park at the front to avoid having to remember all of this, anyways... :) *** Edited 9/11/2004 6:29:57 PM UTC by Cedar Dan***

yeah just go in the front like i told you its really easy

You don't have to say anything, you just go like you know where you're going.

....Drive in like you own the place, Jeff?

There's no special club you have to join, no super delux parking pass you have to get, and no reason you have to give. When you get to the traffic control person just past the toll booths you turn on your left turn signal and turn left. Then turn right at the flashing light.

Parking in the Soak City lot isn't reserved for VIPs, isn't reserved for *just* Soak City visitors. It's another parking lot. Park there. Don't feel bad about it. Don't try to sneak back because NOBODY CARES if you park back there. Just freaking drive.

I will usually take any spot i see in the little blue streak lot on my way back to soak city lot,and it happens alot.

I've always liked parking at pet chek.

number 1. If you area guest of Cedar Point and not a dock holder, you are not allowed to park in the Marina or by pet check. That is reserved for dockholders only.

number 2. We weren't allowing RV's in the soak city lot this year but idk yet if they have dropped that or not.

number 3. the blue streak if you haven't already noticed is an employee parking lot on non-parking ban days for employees. You will notice that all of the cars have stickers on them that are not season pass stickers.

The Big Secret, though, is that any company doesn't want to alienate its customers, so the employee parking areas (other than the ones past the sign that says, "OFFICIAL BUSINESS ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT") are mostly not marked, and there is unlikely to be any retribution against a customer who parks in those parking areas.

Last week, I noticed that part of the main lot has been reconfigured. The extreme left-hand tollbooth lane which used to include an "express lane" to the perimeter road and a lane to the main parking lot has been reconfigured. The islands are now more parking spaces, and all traffic goes down the center lane, with perimeter road traffic turning left at the first crossing.

As crazy as it sounds, I like parking in the front. There's something about coming in the main entrance that is lost at the Resorts gate. However, on warm mid-season days, we almost always park in the back, because we almost always nip over to Soak City to cool off.
I always prefer parking in the back. Better view, imo. I always like parking right next to Corkscrew, when I stay at the Breaker's. I noticed that even if I wasn't, I could still park next to the Corkscrew because they don't check or anything going into the lot. I know you have to put that paper in your dashboard, but I bet you could still sneak by.

As for parking in the front to get that 'front entrance' feeling, I totally understand that. It's always a build up of emotions walking towards the main gate and seeing all the rides spread out. It's beautiful.... And then entering the park through that, the midway right there has it's own unique atmosphere.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

The main toll booth lane has always been the way it is right now. you can either go straight to go around the park, or go up to the right on the center road into the main parking lot. I work in traffic/tolls.

I went last Saturday (and I'm going tomorrow, too) and I think we're spending the night at Lighthouse Point anyways...
Did anyone else notice that the row closest to Magnum in the Soak City Lot is now handicap Parking. I used to always park in this row, but not anymore.
I have a Question. Is the lot closest to Gemini for employees? or public?

The old west was never that wild. I had the last ride on Maverick!!!
