Park Still Exciting?

Since I live around 250 miles away from CP i only visit around 5 times a year and everytime it is so exciting. As soon as I see the turn of MF from a distance and then once I see the park across the water its too much to handle. This makes my trip more enjoyable too. I was wondering if the people that live close (CP is there hometown park) still have that excitement?

I feel the same way. When I hear the music at the park entrance I get all happy. It's like a drug. I guess that is why I don't do drugs, I have Cedar Point to give me my highs, lows, twists, and turns.

I can honestly say that I love driving across the causeway and seeing the park every morning on the way to work. It never gets old, even after 2 years of it and I don't think it will 6 years from now either!

Franko, I have no sympathy for you. I like 114 miles away from Cedar Point and I only go 1 to 2 times a year. You should stop by Detroit and pick me up next time.

I definitly get excited because by no means have I been to the park so many times that the fun is saturated. When we take the old way to Cedar Point (when we didn't use the turnpike) and we cross part of the river that Cedar Point incloses, you can see Millennium Force in the distance. I get all happy inside. If we take the turnpike, I only get happy when we go over the causeway

Feel the Beat

Before when i didnt have so many chances to go to CP, When we'd be going down the causeway, i'd get so excited, I'd almost faint lol.

Now i still get very excited.

Yes, i do live in NYC....but that dont stop me. O yea, thats about 540 miles away from cp. ;)

Have to agree with the 99er there..

Every morning when I walked out of the dorms and headed up the causeway.. No matter how bad the day before way.. I get excited..

Yes I am 42, worked 1 summer there and I get a thrill out of going absolutely. As work for me is somewhat stressful and I only get sunday off, I view my time at the point as an absolute escape from reality and all responsiblity in a rather harmless manner (except for the beer)!
I live like 160 miles away, but I got there 8 times this year. That's as many as the past three years combined for me. I think that it has lost a little uniqueness for me because I went there so many times this year, but I definitely get excited when I go there. It never gets old.

...Denial is an ugly thing.

Some of you are sooo lucky!

Im not sure how many miles, but it was about a 10hr drive from my house to get to the point. but ill say, that from the start of the trip, to the finish, it was absolutely amazing. i had more fun in those 2 days than i did when we spent a week in florida.

I cant wait till the day that i can call CP my homepark.

I don't think it's possible to describe the feeling that I get once I get to the causway and see the most beautiful skyline in the entire world. It's a rush and 10 times more. Then when i'm leaving, I turnaround in my seat the whole time (no I don't drive yet), and I make sure Millennium Force is the last thing I see.

I've been going to CP yearly since 1966 (except for a couple years after my son was born). We've been season pass holders the past 9 years. I still get excited when we hit the causeway.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

When I used to be able to go any day of the week it started to get a little old. Now that I sometimes can't even make it once a year it is more special to me the times I get to go.
I live in Detroit also! Can we say car-pool to CP?

Even on bad mornings when I would have no desire to be at work, I would still gaze out the bus window and look for MF to go down the hill. I would still walk the Midway and look at all the sites. No i can honestly say I will probably never get sick of it.

"whatever it is i hope it makes me pee myself"

I always get a good feeling in me except on one occasion. One day two years ago, i was sick as a dog, and it was raining and wet outside while we drove down the causeway, i just could not become excited.

"Why does this one hour drive seem so looong"

I live right near you, Franko. (Cheektowaga, NY to be exact). I have 5 trips for 2003 already planned out for my daughter and I. Seeing the park from the causeway makes my heart skip a beat every time. And the last visit of the season, when we have to finally pass through the gates for the last time, always, always chokes me up. My daughter thinks I'm nuts, but she's used to it by now!
I run a tour company that specializes in events & amusement parks... particularily Cedar Point. I'm planning to be at the Point at least 20 times next season, and I'm looking forward to each and every trip! The 400km drive isn't nearly so long when you're relaxing in a bus ;)
