Park Looks Jammed

10/7 around 5PM and the main lot is full and the overflow looks to be as well. TTD que is full and a line back to the grandstands. Beautiful weather on what is rumored to be the busiest day of the year. Glad I am not there today. We are taking one Halloweekend off, and looks like we picked the right one..

10/7? And why would it be the busiest day of the year? Isn't that July 4th? You are right though. The park looks packed. I was going to go tomorrow, but now I'm not so sure. It was pretty busy last night too.

I have heard numerous people on here state that the park is busiest on the Saturday before columbus day (which is today).

Sundays are generally a LOT quieter on HW than Sat. But this one may be different, because of the promotions, CD holiday, and resorts staying open an extra night.

Combine the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend with a wall-to-wall sun, 72ยบ day, and you pretty much have the perfect recipe for the biggest attendance day of the year.

Yeah, today was a good day to go to the Cleveland Zoo. No matter how bad the crowds gets, there's never an hour wait to watch a couple lemurs moon you...

Sunday (10/10) looks to be a repeat performance. Not even 1PM and the parking lot is nearly full.

I've been there for every HW Sunday and they have been dead for the most part, even those with nice weather. Not so today!

It was bad today (10.10.10) but not nearly as bad as it looked yesterday. Millennium Force would not stay running so we had to scrap that.

Yeah, I was there today too. Started out promising with probably a 20 minute wait for MF, but the crowds just seemed to flood in by the hour. I parked in 18F when I got there at 10. By 1 PM, I was starting to wonder if they were going to start using the overflow again.

I have been going to Halloweekends the same weekend every year (2nd weekend of October) for the past 5 years. I thought last year's Saturday was busy until this past Saturday! I am just thankful that I am a pass holder with early entry....was able to ride the MF and TTD once before the park opened to the general public. Rode 4 rides all day.....reported amount of visitors that day - 52,000 according to the park offices when my son went to get his disability pass! Sunday started off great - was able to ride all the good ones at least twice before noon and then it started to get busy, not like Saturday tho. After this year I am debating on either switching my weekend or finding other things to do around Sandusky on Saturday while the kids socialize in the park. We live in Michigan but only @ 1 1/2 hrs away so we go to the park a lot over the summer - never saw it that busy all summer! I felt bad for all the workers knowing they weren't fully staffed!

Saturday was probably the busiest Columbus day they have had in four years. There had to be over 55000 people and it was packed. Sunday felt like a busy Saturday up until 8:00. It was mostly families so they left early.

Maverick broke down on us last night around 8:30. Me and my girlfriend sat down, buckled our restraints, and were ready when the ride broke down. They then dispatched all of the trains empty and wouldn't let us on so after waiting in line for about 40 minutes and then another 30 for the break down we just left the line and went to Millennium. Well that was a fail because that got stuck on the lift. Well to my surprise, Dragster and Wicked Twister were the only reliable Intamin coasters last night!

The lines were ridiculous last night! I'm hoping that since it is Columbus Day weekend and it was open 10-10, it won't be busy the next 3 Sundays!

OMG! Looking at TTD web cam the que is totally full and out the que on the midway, and by looks at the parking lot, which is full, there parking in the overflow, unbelieveable!

After waiting in some pretty long lines last night, I'd have to sadly say that the era of Halloweekend Fridays being walk-on heaven is over.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

Yeah, I think the secret is out.

So far, with the exception of last weekend, Sunday has become the new Friday evening for HalloWeekends. The couple of Sundays we've gone this year have been relatively quieter, that is to say shorter waits for major rides and haunted attractions, than the Fridays, largely due to the entire park being open with a small crowd. It will be interesting to see if the outdoor haunts being open in the evening will influence the crowd levels on Sundays this year.

"Thank the Phoenicians!"

A lot of people (like me) go stay at the resorts Fri and Saturday nights, and then leave Sunday sometime. Many do not go in the park on Sunday. But even guys like me, leave at 4PM or so. Gotta get home and get the kiddies ready for school the next day.

So I am pretty sure that Sunday evenings (except maybe last Sunday) are pretty dead. Possibly a good time to don the "single rider" shirt.

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend of Oct 29-31. The resort reservations are wide open, and I think it's going to be a slow weekend due to the trick or treating.

I've already got my camper village reservations, but just need to make sure I'm home by 6:30 or so for trick or treating, or my kids may never forgive me!
