Park Lights

Once the park is open, how long do they normally keeps the lights on, on the rides? We will be coming in around 11:30 one night and we were curious if the lights are going to still be shining.

Thanks.

The lights should still be on at that time. A lot of rides will have the lights on all night.

What I don't understand is some rides having the lights on during the day. I saw it on the Giant Wheel and MF last year. They just invested a lot of money in the new lighting and burn them during the day, SMH!

Aren't Giant Wheel and MF now LED's, so not such a bad thing to burn them all day.

The ones on Giant Wheel are LED's, im not sure on MF since the lights are at the bottom of the lift hill so they most likely use color changing flood lights.

Pickles, the brand new Powertower and MF lights are brand new super expensive LED flood lights. They are actually pretty awesome and look great.

^They got LED light upgrades on both rides

That is really cool. I remember how great the rides looked at night last year. Can't wait to spend a whole summer up at the park!

Am I the only one who is getting tired of seeing LED's everywhere?

Sure, I know they are more economical per lumen, they last longer, they can change colors, etc, but, sometimes I find myself longing for the yellow glow of clear incandescent bulbs.

LED,s are awesome and all, but there is point when it is to much. I can't ride any of the windseekers at night, the lights plus the motion gives me a whopper of a headache.

Get used to it MaverickLaunch, incandescent bulbs aren't going to be manufactured much longer.

MaverickLaunch, I like them on rides, attractions, and other commercial things, but I really don't like them when used inside. In houses, especially, I don't like how harsh and bright they are.

If you find LEDs harsh when used in residential lighting you're using the wrong bulbs. The newer bulbs are available in a color temperature that perfectly imitates a incandescent soft white bulb. I have some new Philips bulbs in my house and they produce beautiful light.

I want to say Power Tower, MF and Dragster all turn out the lights around 3 or 4 AM. Or at least they used to in previous seasons. The Giant Wheel always used to shut off when the ride closed for the night, but with the new lights last year, I think they left it on quite a bit later. As others have said, some lights stay on all night.

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Giant Wheel's Lights were always on but I cant remember if the new LEDs were on or not.
