I am not sure about the 5th. But, I was informed that Honda is renting the park on Saturday (6th) for there employees.

Peace, Mikey

Cedar Point is closed September 2nd-5th.

Honda bought out the park the 6th, closed to the public.

Cedar Point is open the 7th Noon - 8PM

Now if you could rent out the park for anything you wanted, what would it be? You could have the entire park for the whole day and not worry about crazy guests filling up the park! I would have, just to be different, the six flags company picnic come to cedar point with their families! :)

Family Reunion, if you can stand to be with family.

I'd rent it out just to start threads on Pointbuzz asking why it was closed. And then I'd laugh.

how much (rough ballpark estimate) do you think it would cost to rent the park out for a day? Do all employees have to be at there rides or is it like ert when they may have like 3 or so rides open and then they will open a few more and so on.

It's like every other day, just the guests are all Honda Employees and their families. Cedar Point is only open 12-10 Saturday.

Well I'd guess the park averages about 20,000 guests per day (an almost completely random guess by the way) and 20,000 tickets * 40 bucks each is 800,000 total. So I would guess Cedar Point would want about 750,000 for a day at the park. Thats a pretty random guess though. It could be way less, probably not way more, but then again what do I know?

^I'm guessing it is a lot higher than that, you got to figure that your closing the doors to regular guest, it is going to be pissing people off. Especially if they don't go on the Internet.
I know I'm pissed off, I was planning on going this weekend, but I'm not free Sunday.

I wish I didn't waste my time reading this thread.By the way Chris. This day has been known about since the beginning of the season.

My coworker told me this afternoon that his son "went to Cedar Point today." You should have seen the look on his face when I told him that Cedar Point was closed. You know, before I left for any park, I would be checking out the hours for the day I planned to visit. Don't assume anything, especially this late in the season. I wonder how many people will take off for Cedar Point tomorrow, only to be turned away.

yea, I wonder how many workers Honda will bring

I have a friend who got to CP bright and early on a Friday morning in late September. She was pissed when the park didn't open till 6. I'm pretty sure they ended up turnining around and coming home. Always check the hours.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

A couple years ago I almost drove down to Kings Island on a weekday in the last week in August. I had my hotel reservation and everything.

Good thing I checked the web site at the last minute. That would have been truly painful, not to mention embarrassing . . .

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

I was just curious if anybody checked the web cams on Saturday to see how the crowds were for Honda. I was not able to.

I checked a few times. There was a rather good size crowd. I'm guessing employees may have been able to buy extra tickets for friends etc.
